If we take care of business over the next 4 games will be 6 games over .500 after the midway point of the game (knock knock knocking on wood). Better than multiple season win totals during the drough. We’ve been winning the games we need to win and I hope that continues.

Listening to Mike Brown’s presser right now I hear this being a lesson-learning game

I’m also fully expecting some kind of roster tinkering to get Domas some help down low. This can’t continue. I really don’t understand stashing Queta in Stockton when he so obviously fills our biggest needs
All of this. We’re gonna be fine, I’m just annoyed.

I think Free agency is going to be tricky. If we re-sign Barnes we are basically bringing back the same starting 5 which might be ok if our depth improves and we get internal improvement. If we offer Cam, Grant or PJ a contract and their respective teams match, do we lose Barnes? Then what? I just don’t know
I don’t know how cap holds work but I can’t see any reason why it’s not mutually beneficial to keep Barnes around on a friendly deal.

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of him and Keegan end up on the bench if we find a solution that works to improve our starting defense allowing a package of Monk Davion and Keegan to come off the bench

Dear NBA:

Your product is broken and beyond repair when the likes of Dennis Schröder gets the call he got with :02 seconds remaining and the likes of De’Aaron Fox and Domas Sabonis can’t despite being routinely punched or elbowed in the face.
Dear Viewer:

Thanks for your concern about our product. Our bank accounts remain healthy. Dennis Schröder plays for the Lakers. Please be assured that if he we were playing for a poverty franchise he wouldn't be getting that call.

Reviewing the box score:

Are we shopping Holmes? Don’t understand the minutes all of a sudden when he doesn’t really fit

Terrence Davis 0-4 with a turnover in 10 minutes.

KZ Okpala felt like 8 wasted minutes

Let’s not forget how badly we needed Monk taking those 18 minutes

Not sure why Len is stuck on the bench. Much less Metu. Feel like we’re much better served with Len / Metu than Holmes / Okpala

surprised to learn Neemias was active on the bench. Would’ve loved to see him get some backup minutes. I can imagine Neemi paired with Holmes Metu or Lyles having some interesting implications. We have a legit 7 footer with 23 year old legs. It’s criminal we’re not giving him burn. I suspect Okpala may be the next to go if the FO is ready to trim Mike Brown’s team Nigeria guys who haven’t been a factor

Stop being an apologist. It’s unbecoming. And hypocritical.

Especially when the “fouls” and “bumps” that occur on the other end aren’t being called when it matters most.

If the refs don’t have to call a hand right across Sabonis’ face then they don’t have to call a “bump” committed against a career journeyman scrub.

Furthermore, if this is the game we’re gonna play. Then the NBA needs to call every “bump” that happens to De’Aaron Fox. Cause we know the KINGS will undoubtedly come out ahead on that count most nights.

The major point being missed is not whether that was a foul by the letter of the law. The problem is seeing Fox and Sabonis not getting those calls often enough that it’s a joke to see it called the other way.

There’s no justifying or excusing that.

No point was missed. I was responding to a post that said it wasn’t a foul. It was.

I don't get how it's possible for a team on a back to back to have that much energy, unless they take whatever LeBron is taking.........I'm sure the NBA will be doing some testing......

It helped that they won in a minor blowout the night before and had relatively low minutes for their main players

The last time the Kings got jobbed this badly twice in a row by a questionable non-call (Dejounte Murray push-off on his layup with 16 seconds left) and bad call (game-deciding shooting foul called against Fox with 3 seconds left) they reeled off 7 straight wins out of pure spite. Hopefully history repeats itself here. Technically the OT Fox buzzer beater in Orlando came between the hack jobs in Miami and Golden State but I'm going to call this close enough.

The reason Fox was so pissed that he stormed off the court instead of shaking anyone's hand is that he gets hit harder than that on every drive to the basket (including the shot Okongwu blocked at the end of that Hawks game) and most of them are non-calls. To make that call against Fox knowing it was likely going to end the game is... well it's what I've come to expect from the NBA. This team is now at least 4 wins better than their record. But I think this illustrates what has been missing for the past couple weeks. After the winning streak and the Beam Team magic folks around the league started complimenting the Kings for the first time in forever and they lost the intensity which got them there. It has to be us against the world -- the players have to take this personally and take out the frustration on our next opponents because that's how they win. Set the tone in minute 1 that we're only there for one reason and don't let up until it's over. Stay angry. If they do that, these late game calls shouldn't matter. We just have to assume we're going to get screwed out of wins if it's close.

I really hope we wake up to news of Boogie on a ten day.
I think just the fan energy from bringing in Boogie alone would carry the Kings to some home wins…which are becoming sadly rare. Boogie would bring it to and put together some monster offensive games in limited minutes which he’s still capable of. It’s unfinished business to be part of a Kings winner. I’m in. The Kings are already on the outs with refs. So Boogie will fit right in. Maybe they’ll remember they don’t hate Domas as much as they do Boogie.

Yes, it would be ideal to shop Holmes and that’s what they’re doing…but he’s virtually unmovable until the 2024-2025 season..that is unless he can string together enough decent basketball to make another team believe that he can be a 14-8 player if put in the right situation again. So I think they are trying to bring his value back. Everything else be damned…but It’s not like a winning combination is being held back for Richaun to have minutes.

Neemias is the proof that this organization is horrible at player development, from getting stuck on the bench for months on end without any meaningful NBA time to the way hes been utilized in the G-league, its just sad to see players like Roddy and Orlando Robinson that used to be destroyed by Neemy in college, ending up getting more NBA time than him.

Miami is doing the same to Orlando Robinson (only got to play cause Dedmon was injured) the fan based has turned on Spo/Dedmon (exact same as Kings situation when Dedmon was here)) over the use of him and many others players.

Refs mistakes are in the same category as bad inbounds passes and missed rebounds. They dont get a pass becuase they are part of the game or whatever. They clearly "mess up" in favor of certian players and teams.

Lyles didn't miss the pass becuase it was the lakers.

I have a hard time stomaching the ref complaining (my god it seems worse than ever this year) when you allow Thomas Bryant to go for 30/15.
Right there with you. I hate the refs. They are garbage. Kings clearly get screwed at the end of games more often than not. But they have way worse issues right now than the refs. No one in our starting line up plays any defense at all. Almost every game we make one role player look like a generational talent. This team will go no where as long as they continue to give zero effort on that end, no matter how many points they can score.

yep I agree. Sabonis fouls out because he is attacked over and over. We are not supposed to give up drives over and over but we continue to do so.

Right now, according to Raptor stats, Fox is the 5th worst defensive starting point guard and Huerter is tied for the 7th worst defensive shooting guard. It's going to be really hard to win games when your back court is getting beat on every single possession.

True that. Which therein lies the big problem.

People can love the WWENBA all they want and foolishly believe it’s legit — but it’s clear as day to anyone that wants to see the truth that it’s far from legit. The evidence mounts up with each and every game.

It’s not about legitimately finding out who the best team is, but rather building and maintaining brands in what they consider the marquee markets. Same applies to the NFL.

Raptor is questionable at best. Jokic is the second best defensive player according to them and Davion Mitchell is 33.

Part of the reason we have no interior defense is because Sabonis isn't allowed to play defense. He's constantly having to avoid contact for fear of getting fouled out. Maybe he has things to work on, but there isn't another player in the league with his skillset that is night in night out being removed from the game by the refs to the extent that it appears malicious.

The annoying thing is Fox can be very good defensively. Since his strategy offensively is to save most of the volume for the the last 15-20 minutes of the game I wish he would heavily prioritize defense in the first half.

Even if he did. Huerter gets beat. HB gets beat. Keegan gets caught in unfavorable matchups and gets beat. Domas isn’t a rim protector. Kings need to add a better and longer defender in the frontcourt with Domas and need to get better defense from Fox. They also need almost all of their bench guys to be competent defenders. Not just one or two guys, only one that plays consistently.

the defensive issue is a long way from being solved this season..what can be solved is those offensive droughts when there is a bench heavy unit in. We only have one reliable scorer off the bench and even he’s proving to be streaky. Kings need to be even better offensively and can be.
