Exchanging Huerter for Zach is never a bad trade.

You may not like the fit (it's not as if Kevin was a great fit), but the talent disparity is significant. As his contract nears end, you can get something significant for him. Was never possible with Kevin.

Lavine makes 47.5M next year and 49 the year after. Lavine is making superstar money and the team is best when he comes off the bench.

No one is trading significant assets to take on those kinds of salary numbers. Which means if you let Keon hit the market you are going to be approaching the 2nd apron

You need to sign Keon and Laravia this summer

As of today, March 20, 2025, the Sacramento Kings are hard-capped at the first tax apron ($178.1 million) and have $2.31 million in luxury tax room. They are currently $3.2 million below the luxury tax threshold.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Luxury Tax Threshold: $170,814,000
Kings' Current Salary Allocation: $168,503,740
Luxury Tax Room: $2,310,260
1st Apron Room: $9,628,260
2nd Apron Room: $18,127,260
Hard Capped: 1st Apron

It’s very possible you will be forced to trade Sabonis.

If the Kings put in that type of effort most nights, they can hang with almost any team in the league. Monk and DDR were pissed off enough to refuse to lose at the end there. Playing 5 on 8 has to get old.

Carter really shined. Still doesn't know where to be half the time on offense but his defensive impact cannot be ignored. It's not going to happen overnight but I think Monte drafted an impact player here.

The one negative from the game was the stupid camera angles they used in the first half. It completely ruined the Carter dunk for those of us watching from home. Why they thought giving us a view from the nosebleeds for the entire first half was a good idea is beyond me. I watch the game on my DVR on a 1-2 hour delay so I can skip commercials and free throws and I literally just fast forwarded through the entire second quarter because of that camera angle. Luckily they stopped it after half time. Whoever thought that was a good idea doesn't need to be fired but they definitely need to be tarred and feathered live on air during the next telecast.
