Kings deserve the opportunity to win and lose games fairly and based on the judgement of their play in that individual game. This season has just been an absolute crap-storm in terms of allowing them to have that opportunity.

No, they didn't deserve to win this game. But they certainly deserved it to be called fairly. Sure we can keep saying "JUST DON'T LEAVE IT TO THE REFS", but the Kings aren't good enough yet where they can just start trucking teams around their talent level by 8-10 points every game.

I will say, we have seen this version of Fox for large enough of a sample to know it’s not a phase. Big time asset whenever we get into the playoffs. Sabonis is a hub that works great for playoff ball as well. Huerter and Murray dead eye shooters. Just have to figure out the defense and that’s a big ask. Our best shot is likely through the draft but it’s hard to rely on rookies on that end. No idea what Monte will do

Monte needs to hurry up with the moves to get a backup center and backup wing

does Josh Richardson still play defense? I don’t know. Just throwing out a name. Any rotational wing or center that was seen playing decent defense and putting the ball in the basket within the last couple years could apply.
He just needs to make sure that doesn't hamper him from capitalizing on a game changing move. Goal one should always be setting yourself up to contend for a title, not a playoff spot.

League needs the Lakers to be at least decent for the upcoming LeBron takeover of the all-time points crown so a little boost from the refs can only grease that up
League learned its lesson from putting all those bad Zombie Kobe Laker teams on the air. Fans will tune in to watch great players hit milestones but they won't tune in if there are absolutely no stakes beyond that.

Yeh I got what I asked for. A team that is competitive every night. Once you get a taste of that you want and expect more. They really are on the edge of something. Keegan may have to be the answer this season, in addition to a back up 5 at the deadline, but that’s a lot of weight on a rookie. He is improving weekly, just don’t know if he can make a leap of that magnitude yet this season
We’re sitting on $17mm in cap space this summer which balloons to nearly $30 if we find a way to move Richaun. If we finish the year strong that’s a lot of cheddar to play with, especially if it looks like we’re a piece away and have the minutes to offer the right free agents

we absolutely have to get out from under Richaun's boat anchor.

I think Free agency is going to be tricky. If we re-sign Barnes we are basically bringing back the same starting 5 which might be ok if our depth improves and we get internal improvement. If we offer Cam, Grant or PJ a contract and their respective teams match, do we lose Barnes? Then what? I just don’t know

Assuming the owner is not stingy.

I agree. I’m just talking about what we can get for a bag of ruffles. That’s why I originally threw a name like Josh Richardson out there..but I didn’t realize 5 minutes ago that Richardson still makes a fairly healthy salary these days so we’d be talking about a handsomely paid bag of ruffles.

Most I’m willing to part with to improve the bench for this season is future second rounders or guys currently on our bench(TD). Kings can’t make a big trade until they are ready to move on from HB anyway. We don’t know if that will be, or should be this season.

but the Kings can actually find better backup centers on the unemployment line right now. Maybe not ones that can help defensively but atleast keep the score running when Domas goes out. They can probably get a wing for TD. Some teams have too many wings and not enough guards.like the Kings have too many guards and not enough everything else.

this!

The refs arent the reason the Lakers have Thomas Bryant dropping 29 and 14 while being paid the vets minimum at 25 years old

or the reason we have Holmes making 4x that much while playing 9 minutes per game

there are so many forces that sway these games that are well within the kings control... n there's crazy resources dedicated to that.. to focus on the refs a force that is out of the kings control seems twisted imo.
Holmes is useless. He don't play defense. He has no ability to play great D because he took bad angle and his lateral movement sucks. Terrence Davis should not be playing either...bad IQ and bad defense. I don't know why Mike Brown play him over Lyle in that one stretch....there is no reason he should get minutes over Lyle when Lyle is available, period. I also think Keegan need to grow up fast as far as playing team help defense. He can't just worry about his own man and nobody else. He needs to step up and take on the Draymond Green type of responsibility if the Kings need to go far. The reason he needs to grow up fast is because they don't have many good defenders on this roster.

Yeah that would be OK. Cuz is out there sitting and someone you can literally get for not even a bag of chips. C'mon Monte, let the story have a chance to go full circle.

It was a foul my man. He clearly bumped him.
Stop being an apologist. It’s unbecoming. And hypocritical.

Especially when the “fouls” and “bumps” that occur on the other end aren’t being called when it matters most.

If the refs don’t have to call a hand right across Sabonis’ face then they don’t have to call a “bump” committed against a career journeyman scrub.

Furthermore, if this is the game we’re gonna play. Then the NBA needs to call every “bump” that happens to De’Aaron Fox. Cause we know the KINGS will undoubtedly come out ahead on that count most nights.

The major point being missed is not whether that was a foul by the letter of the law. The problem is seeing Fox and Sabonis not getting those calls often enough that it’s a joke to see it called the other way.

There’s no justifying or excusing that.
