Just got back from a date with the Mrs to see another close loss. We generally win close or lose close, so hope Monte has someone in mind to make the Kings more convincing.
This team isn’t far off but as many have mentioned we need a legit back up big to spot Sabonis and or another star quality player.

I honestly don’t think I can continue to be this attached to Every game this season. Definitely feels unhealthy.
Yeah, I think 16 years of losing has conditioned us as a fanbase to live on a razor's edge for every single win and loss. The truth of the matter is that the NBA season is so long that you simply can't treat every single game as a must win like with the shorter NFL season. Even the best teams in the league only end up 10 or 15 games above .500.

And this season it's going to likely be tight as heck until a few teams hopefully start to jump on the tank tracks for the French kid.

I could deal with the losses if it didn't feel like there was just enough influence to make sure we lost even when we played a bad game and deserved to lose but hung in to have a shot only to have it taken away by the type of thing you can call on every single play.

This will be the story of this season likely so get ready, hahaha. This is what it looks like being a team that's ever so close to getting over that hump but is lacking that extra gear piece and a consistent strategy and effort on defense lol.
Yeh I got what I asked for. A team that is competitive every night. Once you get a taste of that you want and expect more. They really are on the edge of something. Keegan may have to be the answer this season, in addition to a back up 5 at the deadline, but that’s a lot of weight on a rookie. He is improving weekly, just don’t know if he can make a leap of that magnitude yet this season

"Sorry we called that foul on you for punching Keegan in the nose, Mr. James, sir. As an apology, you can have every other call for the remainder of the game."
Was that within the last 2 minutes? Don't quite remember.

If so, betting my house that'll be the only "mistake" on the L2M report. Should have been a no call

Yeah, it should be noted that pretty much every other team we're in direct competition for a playoff slot for keeps losing these sorts of games too. Hell, the Pelicans have looked downright awful at times over the last week without Zion or BI there to bail them out.

And I still think that's impossible unless Brown starts giving him some of his HIS offense. We saw some post game a few games ago and then gone again. That's going to be his key if there is one to busting through.

anyhow, hopefully we get at least 20 TV games next season and maybe they'll start to call us halfway fair when they do. maybe our guys will get a shake at fan balloting when that happens. it's pretty clear that a big part of why we are getting screwed is because the league has zero invested in seeing us do well. If we beat the Lakers then the TNT crew is dogging the NBA for another week about why the Lakers are on TV and the team that beat them isn't.

Enough about the dam refs.
this!

The refs arent the reason the Lakers have Thomas Bryant dropping 29 and 14 while being paid the vets minimum at 25 years old

or the reason we have Holmes making 4x that much while playing 9 minutes per game

there are so many forces that sway these games that are well within the kings control... n there's crazy resources dedicated to that.. to focus on the refs a force that is out of the kings control seems twisted imo.

Yeah, and if history is any indication the only way this franchise is going to get beyond the calls is by becoming so good it doesn't matter 99 percent of the time.

no and yet they still made two calls that decided the game.

Maybe Kings should get credit for finding a way to make a winnable game out of another game they just completely otherwise pooped the bed.

maybe we wouldn't gripe about the refs if the Athletic didn't just run an article where it was acknowledged that the refs don't give the Kings calls by other coaches around the league.

I think we may have peaked unless we get help via trade. The layup drill every single game is getting old, and needs to be addressed.
No doubt. To get to that next level the Kings need another legit 2nd option type. The short term answer is to find a way to commit to a switch/pressure scheme and see if they can't creep back up those defensive rankings. Health permitting that should get them into the playoffs this year.

If we take care of business over the next 4 games will be 6 games over .500 after the midway point of the game (knock knock knocking on wood). Better than multiple season win totals during the drough. We’ve been winning the games we need to win and I hope that continues.

Listening to Mike Brown’s presser right now I hear this being a lesson-learning game

I’m also fully expecting some kind of roster tinkering to get Domas some help down low. This can’t continue. I really don’t understand stashing Queta in Stockton when he so obviously fills our biggest needs

Monte needs to hurry up with the moves to get a backup center and backup wing. Not asking for anything earth shaking but this can’t continue. I think we know what we have at this point..and it gets ugly after the starting 5.

does Josh Richardson still play defense? I don’t know. Just throwing out a name. Any rotational wing or center that was seen playing decent defense and putting the ball in the basket within the last couple years could apply.
