Sure.
And...so what? The only person losing money over the deal was Cuz. It was a game were the consensus was we probably didn't want to win it and the front office certainly went to lengths searching for that result. The playoffs are long gone (actually not so long, we weren't officially eliminated until April, likely a first in a decade). So...so what?

However, I'll bite because I'm feeling argumentative today...
Your reasoning is very short sighted. You're only thinking in terms of this year. Cousins' image & reputation easily carries over into next year (a year that is crucial to compete). Maintaining or further worsening your reputation among NBA officials not only isn't going to help you this year, but it's not going to help you next year when it's opening day and the kings record is 0-0. Cousins has dug himself into a hole with the refs. That's not to say he can't be a great player playing in this hole, it just goes to show how much more helpful he could be. Getting the superstar treatment on foul calls and not giving away free points through technicals can help this team. The amount it helps can be debated, but it helps us nonetheless.
Sure, if you want to live in the bubble that is this season, then who cares, but that's not our situation.
