The game that wasn't on NBA-TV, and then was scheduled for NBA-TV and then was dropped from NBA-TV. And why, you ask? Simple. The brave little soldier™ was rumored to be ready to return to the court, and where better than against his non-rivals yet bitter enemies the woeful Sacramento Kings. Unfortunately, it appears as though the brave little soldier™ decided, apparently without any discussion with his coach or anyone else, that he wasn't ready to play tonight but might be able to face the Toronto Raptors in Staples on Sunday.

I don't know about anyone else but I certainly hope the brave little soldier™ hasn't made a horrible miscalculation. The crowd at Sleep Train might have been unappreciative, but if he stinks up the court at Staples on Sunday, fresh off signing that $48 million contract extension, said Sleep Train fans are gonna seem like Biebermaniacs compared to the reaction he might get from those stalwarts of compassion and sportsmanlike conduct at Staples. (It's with only a minor bit of embarrassment that I confess to hoping for something less than a stellar return, simply for the crowd reaction aspect.)

Anway, it's time for our young Kings to step up and see if they can BEAT LA. I think the chances are pretty good. :)

If you're going to the game, drive carefully!

GO KINGS!!

You gotta admire the chutzpah of this "Yahoo contributor":

"As the Los Angeles Lakers prepare to take on the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, the emergence of DeMarcus Cousins has to leave some fans in L.A. wondering what could've been had things played out a little differently.

The Kings signed Cousins to a four-year, $62 million extension in September and solidified their plans to build around him after a productive, yet tumultuous start to his career had his future in Northern California in question. Had they let his contract expire and allowed him to become a free agent in 2014, the Lakers would have been in play for his services..."

Wow, The future conditional pluperfect subjunctive. Impressive.

The Lakers have a sense of entitlement when it comes to having the best big man in the game. They HAVE had the best big many, many times from Mikan to Wilt to Kareem to Shaq.

While I'm in favor of having a terrible record, this does not apply against the lakers.

Bleep those guys!

(Tyreke just turned his ankle pretty bad. Cant put any weight on it. )

His ligaments must be stretched incredibly. He has no support. I know there are ways of taping ankles for support but tape will not make up for loose ligaments completely. I wonder if they can be tightened surgically. Hmm. For Tyreke, it might be worth the long rehab.

But this thread isn't about Tyreke.

Fart the Lakers!!

I think we win both tonight and tomorrow.

Call it a gut feeling. I think we're going to pull off back to back victories on a back to back.

MLM missed that, but I love the flip shot off glass. It's there for him most nights and he just showed he has the touch to convert those. It's just understanding the flow of the NBA game and when he should or shouldn't take those, but that will be an important shot for him.

Actually he showed he doesn't have the touch at the moment, but it's definitely within reach.
Uh, when you put it that softly off the glass and it rattles in and out, and the form/release was good, he actually just did show he has the touch. It doesn't need to go down to show that, not if you've been around the game for awhile.
