[Game] Kings v. Lakers - 12/6/13 - 7 p.m.

IT does look better this year than last, but also Vasquez is worse than any guard we've had start for us in years. But not only is the point that starting IT and weakening our bench substantially a concern, as well as having an offensive threat on the floor for less than 48 mins a concern, but what about the issue that IT is best when he's the focus and Cuz is the best when he's the focus? If IT is constantly looking to set up Cuz, it negates what he does best, and if Cuz is splitting touches with IT and getting fewer shots, it also negates what he can do to an extent.

What do you expect a 2nd option to do? The whole point of having a #2 guy is having him on the floor with the #1 guy to take pressure off him. You don't think Cousins would see more 1on1 match-ups if he got more minutes with IT?

As far as weakening the bench this year... so? We're not trying to win games anyway.
The concern would be is if IT went hero mode and completely ignored Cousins. But every indication, in the small sample we've seen them play together, says IT is more than willing to get Cousins the ball.

Just to be clear, no one has argued that IT is better than GV among those that think he should come off the bench. i'm not sure why his fans keep arguing that point. no one is arguing GV is better than IT. no one.

It's not quite the landslide that people make it out to be. over the course of the season, GV will have his moments. he's not this bad.

You know that Cousins is stepping into that Franchise role when he completely dominates the opponent in the 1st half and no-one even bothers mentioning it.

If we don't care about wins, let's focus on the future and defining roles. IT is an ideal 6th man, change of pace pg. Let's get him the most comfortable for that role and keep working on filling other holes, like a starting pg.

If we had a 3rd scoring threat on a nightly basis, I'd feel differently. But this team is incredibly short on talent and due to that imo we need an offensive threat on the floor as much as possible and the best way to do that is to split up IT and Cuz. Our bench could be worst in the league if you replace IT with GV.

I do agree with you. I have the same questions, but I still want to see it. It's possible I think it has a higher probability of working than you do.

I think above all else Thomas has earned the opportunity to lose the opportunity, if that makes sense. If we do it and it doesn't work - if all the issues you brought up become truth instead of theory then at least you've tried it.

Carl Landry coming back could help that bench scoring when Thomas and Cousins sit, so that's something to watch for. I have no idea what to expect from Landry at this point. It's easy to forget he's even on the roster, but when he's ready .. something is going to have to change somewhere.

No, not really, and it ignores our bench issues. And as you said below, if we're not trying to win, why even change anything at all? You contradict yourself by trying to improve a team which isn't trying to win...

In your opinion. If you think Malone isn't trying to win games, you're sadly mistaken.

they've gotta go small in the 4th.. Gv plus IT, Mclemore, Cousins and Williams. And hope somehow the lakers don't score at will.

The youngins' DWill and BMac really starting to develop some great chemistry - besides GV crashing the party for kicks.

oh nice GV. go ahead and forget that your guarding Jodie Meeks.

man McLemore and Williams is a fun combo to watch. id love to see Isaiah-Ben-Dwill get some time together. that would be fun
