[Game] Kings v. Grizzlies - Friday, Dec. 21 - 7PT/10ET

Well, this could be a lot worse. It's not out of reach but the Kings are really gonna have to play SMART.

40 points at half...Kings of last season showing up. Playing right into what Memphis wants to do. Three straight games the Kings haven't been very competitive, teams are starting to exploit the Kings in the paint with no mercy.

Willie leads the game (both Sacramento and Memphis) in offensive rebounds with 3.

One fell into his hands, he caught another one to keep it from bouncing off his face. I'm looking at all the ones where he was either facing the wrong way, didn't bother to stay long enough to try and get a board, showed no inclination to even try to catch it, etc.

Buddy has shot like crap, but he's hustling out there.

Shump and KK are trying. Fox has been alright, although he hasn't really put his stink on the game.

How the **** does Willie have 8 rebounds though?!! :D

Hopefully the 3s start landing in the 2nd half. If our guys start shooting up to their season averages... That'll close the gap real quick.

I understand what you are saying but I think everyone just yells at Willie when things are not going well :). He leads all players in total rebounds as well with 8.

I understand what you're saying but this is a perfect example of how misleading it can be to just look at the box score. WCS looks good on paper but...

Yeah Willie seems to profit off the Kings pace - but when that isn't there he just makes up the numbers...

Kings still take very good care of the basketball. That has been a consistent feature of the team and is pretty remarkable for a team of their pace. If they can throw in some defense, and not have it completely negated by not rebounding in the future. They take the dramatic next step.

That’s a pretty encouraging thing about the Kings for the future. That they don’t kick the ball around a bunch.

I'm watching too. to me he does not look worse than anyone else out there. i think its the expectations on our part that make him look worse than the other players rather than him actually being worse than the other guys...

I figure it’s because we’re young...but sometimes it feels like we forget who we are and what we’re capable of.

^^^ he just looks lacsidasical out there.

Which isn’t acceptable when he shows he can bring it, like the recent game he D’ed up on KAT.

Willie is getting his butt whooped and he's starting to shrink away. He doesn't respond well to physical play.

The lack of toughness for the Kings is so evident on the loose balls. Memphis gets on the floor with a purpose; the Kings get on the floor so they can show they are trying to get the ball, but not really trying. Hield and Fox are the only two guys playing. Shump seems to be thinking about his personal issues, and Bogs looks like his foot is still hurting him.

I'm definitely not one to use an excuse of Bagley missing as to why we aren't winning. Every team goes through injuries, and many teams find ways to still win. We just aren't playing well as a team period. While a little bit of it is because we are missing Bagley, it's definitely not the biggest reason, because even when Bagley wasn't injured, we were still winning when he wasn't on the court.
