Kings v. Blazers, VSL

We're getting killed by these refs and I hate these stupid announcers. Kamla and Jones have a man crush on the blazers obviously.

why do our guards refuse to pass to Thompson in the post. He has been posted up about 8 times and the guard call for the pick instead. I wanna see what he has with his back to the basket.

Jason Thompson, wow. As NME pointed out, he still looks a bit raw out there and seems to be adjusting to the speed of the game. His moves aren't totally fluid. But the ability to put the ball on the floor, his ability to snag rebounds because of his good hands, his outside shooting, his ability to run the floor... wow.

Singletary also looks like a seriously great pickup. Just solid out there and definitely has the athleticism to be an NBA point guard. Really solid defense, good decision making and a few good shots when he looked for his offense.

Shelden Williams.... just no athleticism. Strong. That's about all he's going to give you.

Hawes wasn't really in this one.

This game was a microcosm of everything Quincy Douby. Some pretty solid defense (6 steals), some flashes of awesome offense... but can't really score when you need it. And not really able to create for anyone. I really think everything's there for Quincy except for his brain.

Ewing Jr. will either be cut before the season starts or he'll get the Ryan Robertson treatment.

Oh yeah very impressive. He held Batum in check. I liked when he blocked the shot on one end and somehow lead the break on the other end.

im not understanding the shelden hate .. everyone isnt going to be a super athlete and he isnt even a bad one .. hes crazy strong and is our only big man playing like a big man .. his rebounding played a significant role in the win, while hawes was out by the free throw line shelden was in the key made a great effort off the singletary free throw miss to hawes for the easy bucket .. williams was consistently rebounding over people taller than him ... after how bad the kings rebounding has been recently i thought kingsfans would be happy to see a big man not afraid to rebound and all hes getting is complaints on his athletesism.

He had a few nice putbacks and did a good job defending/rebounding but I think what people are bothered by is when he gets the ball and he tries to do something he can't. It causes mistakes, turnovers, etc. He was good on defense and on the boards though, so he helped us out, but eh.

Spencer was horrible but I think we all know he's not THIS horrible.

Somehow I'm thinking maybe it was a good thing that Oden wasn't playing afterall. ;)

And I am also thinking that a few more performances like these first two games and Jr. had best work on his caddying skills for daddy's celebrity golf outings.

He was such a waste of a pick. You can tell by the way he plays/moves that he just doesn't belong at this level. He'll be a NBDL lifer for sure.

What's there not to like about Jason Thompson. I liked when play-by-play man asked Snapper Jones if Thompson looked 6'11. Snapper said definitely and that he's very well proportioned so maybe you don't think he's quite that tall at first. This guy is an athlete and a very good one it appears.

I wouldn't be nearly as hard on Shelden if he would just stick to rebounding, muscle defense and tip-ins. It's when he thinks he can shoot the ball or drive on anyone that can move where he is clearly out of his element and makes me cringe. IMO, Shelden is close to taking the crown from Causewell for lowest BB IQ to ever wear a Kings uniform.

Quincy was playing good tonight again, Regiie should give him more minutes when the season starts
Jason was very very solid, he seems like the real deal! Screw Mikkie Moore
And I love Sean Singletary's game, reminds me of Chris Paul so quick with the ball can penetrate to the rim easily and dish the ball and seems like a good defender too
Shelden is horrible on offense
Patrick Ewing Jr looks like a complete liability
Spencer was OFF tonight...
