[Game] Kings @ Trailblazers 27 Dec 2200 EST

marcus, reke and DMC played at least half of the first half... that is not alot of playing time for your main guys, though good time management from coach Paul westphal get your guys enough rest till the second half. they'd be fresh come 3rd.

Westy stuck with the bench a bit too long there in the 2nd, but now that Cuz made it to half time with only 2 fouls look for a heavy dose of him in the second half, just like last game.

And if Marcus can find his stroke we will be ok. It doesn't help that Wallace is the EXACT type of 3 Salmons will struggle to defend. Just too big and long.

We need to re-establish our energy again for the 2nd half, lost it the last 5 minutes of the 2nd qtr. Offense needs to run through our bigs, and Jimmer and Marcus need to stop forcing their shots and looking for the open man.

Considering the fact that the Blazers have proven themselves wholly incapable of defending the paint, we need a double dose of Reke and Cuz in the second half

Yeah...we might want to go big against them with JT, Cuz, and put Hayes on Wallace...both Salmons and Outlaw can't control him.

Yeah, anyone notice that his rotation looked just like it did at it's worst last season? Westphal, the only coach in the world that plays his bench starters minutes and takes out one of his best players (Cousins) right when he starting to have an impact.

Thank goodness it's the last year of his deal, can't wait to see Bobby J take over.

DMC not playing enough in the first half probably to avoid foul trouble same goes with Hayes, we dont want our defensive bigs going 4 fouls in the 3rd thats the way I see it. and hickson is already doing some damage along JT on the boards. only reason its close is because marcus shot is off. not to mention reke isnt pounding it in the paint.

surprised garcia and donte not playing... well, not surprised with donte not playing but garcia?

I think the only bench player deserving more PT is JT, Blazers can't guard him inside or outside, and we need to go bigger against them to contain Wallace. I think Hayes is a good switch on Wallace because he's obviously big enough but quick enough on D to guard him.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to temp Westy with playing JT with Hayes and DMC, but I would still like to see Donte do some work on Wallace to see if he can guard him better

I say show some guts. Stick your best guys out there as long as you can, don't freaking fear every call. Rely on that depth when you need to not when you don't. If Westphal thinks that the Kings "depth" can beat even the most marginal teams starting 5 he's out of his mind. In concert it can be deadly, but I've never seen a coach go out of his way pretty much to sit his starters in favor of his bench. He got better towards the end of last year but a person who understands history and fails to not repeat the same missteps is mind boggling.

Yeah, I don't get that rotation either...he needs to adopt an Adelman-esque rotation...some nights its ok to go deep, and nights like tonight it's not, and you stay 8-9 deep.

I disagree. Coming off a win against the Lakers where your main guys had to play a pretty good amount of minutes, it's good to try to rest them for the second half, especially if guys like JT, Hickson, and Jimmer are playing well.

Why isn't this game on Dish? Last night on the TV guide it showed it would be on. Now it is showing a high school football game.

Exactly. Adelman used to get chewed by fans for not going deep enough, Westphal would play the ball boy if he's doing well over Jordan! WTF?

I wouldnt mind them sticking it out there myself, just saying that maybe it has something to do not only with foul trouble but also the season itself, im not sure if we have back to back to back games, like I said im not able to watch the game. its a different kind of perspective when one watches the game and other just looks at the boxscores :P ,

Are we playing keep away from Tyreke or something? Chuck Hayes has taken more shots than he has tonight

Kings look tired/lazy right now. Not the way to come out of half. We need a couple of fresh legs to spark this team if our starters don't spark themselves
