Big Big win. This win showed that we can put up a fight against the big boys. I hate that the sportscenter guys said that the Spurs couldnt play worse and that it was a back to back for them and that was the reason they lost. That pissed me off because we were in back to back also and its not like the Spurs faced a great team the night before. That's bull how they also seem to find some stupid reason for beating good teams. Especially on the road.

NBA tv just showed that Peja declined contract and will be free agent.

Everyone knew he was going to decline. He has previously said this, just like how he was going to opt out in Sac.

Kings have scored more points head to head against the Spurs this year:

Kings Spurs
93 96
89 90
97 87

Bring on round one!

Not only did Greg Anthony blame the Spurs loss on the back to back, but the announcer for the Warriors/Hornets game said the Spurs were playing without Tony Parker.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. This gives me more of a reason to be angry at them.

And also at one point Anthony said that Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, Bowen, Van Exel, Mohammed, Horry, and Van Exel were playing through injuries, so this game didn't really count anyway.

yup. when I heard that, I was like "WTF?"

The game was just about over at that point and Parker did not have a good game. He wouldn't have made a difference.

Something I noticed: Funny that when Mike was pulled out (early 4th), that's when Parker scored a flurry of points (6-8 points) and Hart couldn't stop him and you could feel the game slipping away alittle. When Mike came back, we kinda took control of the game again. Not saying Mike's great defensively but I really like that Parker did not go off against him tonight. He OWNED tony and i LOVED it! :D

So Artest, Martin, Wells, Shareef, and Mike weren't banged up? Jeez Greg Anthony is just a hater(he always praises LA too). I hate the hater.

This was a HUGE win for us. Mike actually played defense against Tony Parker! When he plays like this he's the best point in the league. Shareef, Brad and Kenny actually were able to defend Tim Duncan and we won on the boards.

couldnt agree with you more..

That's just ridiculous. Not only had we played a really good team the night before, but we were playing a back-to-back on the road! The Spurs were at HOME! Heeelllooooo!

I don't want to post it again (its earlier in the thread). Adelman said Cisco is still having trouble with that ankle and is no where near back to playing like he was. Was hoping he could spell Bibby, but he just can't right now.:(

Okay..Spurs DID play like complete crap. But the back to back is no excuse since we pulled the same trick.

Spurs are a great team, but I've always had a question whether they truly had the swagger and ferocity of a truly Great team. We'll find out if we meet them in Rnd 1. I know what would happen if we had done this to the Jordan Bulls or Magic Lakers and then ran into them a few weeks later. Wouldn't be pretty for us. But the Spurs? Never been sure if they have ever had that response where their egos are just enormously miffed that you had the temerity to challenge them, and so they seize you by the throat while crushing you by 40 and shake you around for a bit until you quit kicking. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Hmmm... sounds familiar.

They interviewed Mike Bibby at the end of the game. He said that from now on every game at this point is an important game, not just this one. Said that they let them come back but held it together. And Artest helps him out and opens things up for everyone

BTW guys, don't let it get to you... Greg Anthony is and always has been just a character and not an actual analyst. He refuses to change his mind on anything and will never admit that he's wrong. Once he picks his favorites there is nothing you can do to change it. He's an idiot and let's just leave it at that.

i am so glad i taped the 2nd half of this game waitn'te!!!!!!!!!! i can't wait to watch it

WOW, i am so proud of the kings! to win a game on the 2nd night of a back to back after being blown out by dallas, then having to face the defending champs on the road and to beat them?? that is beyond awesome! the team game, the D, oh i just loved it all

CONGRATS KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hate to tell everybody. But we have a talented team. Maybe not exactly the right pieces yet, but I think the MAIN ones are there. I just knew that the Kings were going to win this game. I just hope they can keep it going.

GO KINGS!!!

Actually, Bonzi is the only one who played last night, remember? :D

I watched the game on Comcast, and after reading this thread, I'm sure glad I did...

The interview after the game with SAR was priceless. Catch it on the replay if you possibly can. At one point, they ask SAR how it feels to be six games away from post-season and he broke into a grin that just about lit up the sky.

:D

I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!

(I saw that, chelle. Thanks!!!)

You know what, I don't know what any of you are complaining about... Bill Walton gave some tremendous compliments to Sacramento, and I thought they really poured the praise on thick. And their comments about San Antonio were true; the team wasn't up to par, and did look really tired at the end of a back-to-back (technically we had a back-to-back performance also, if you consider last night's showing a performance, which I certainly don't). I'll face up to it, this wasn't a great game for San Antonio, but still, a terrific win for us.

My dad kept saying after the Mavericks game that the Kings were going to get their *** handed to them last night. I kept telling him that for WHATEVER reason the Kings match up good against San Antonio. Both games were close earlier in the season, and this was the first game against them with Artest. I had a feeling about this one.

Now, can the Kings put a series together like this. Well that's a tough call. I think it depends on who show's up for the game. This team has proven here and there they have the talent to play with some of the best teams in the league. Then at other times look like they are what their record says they are. Consitancy night in, night out. If the Kings can bring that, I think they have a shot in a serious against San Antonio. If not, they don't have a prayer.

the first 2 games against the spurs were losses with a spurs win by 3, and a win by 1.
(am i acurate on the points? correct me if im wrong)

after last night with a 10 point win.. that DEFINITELY makes up for that 4 points. =]]

I like what Adelman did tonight. At one point it was SAR, Artest, Bonzi, Kevin and Bibby out there! Also I liked how with that line-up in Adelman put Kevin to guard Parker and he did pretty solid.

Great game Kings!!!

I dont know if this has been discussed, but at one point there was a Spurs lineup on the floor that made me want to throw a brick at my screen.

PG: Nick Van Exel --- That Dallas series...Ugh, I despise him.
SG: Micheal Finley --- All those years in Dallas, hitting those big shots all the time...Again, I despise this guy.
SF: Manu Ginobili --- I hate his style of play...I hate his flopping...I hate his constant complaining...I hate everything about him as a player.
PF: Robert Horry --- The shot...Need I say more.
C: Tim Duncan --- I know he's one of the best in the league, but his style of play and personality, or lack there of, really others me.

Ew...I hated that lineup...Basketball nightmares.

I forgot how much many "hateable" Spurs there are now on the roster. I'll always dig Tim Duncan, and I can't really bring myself to hate Nick the Quick, even when he was dropping 40+ a night during that Dallas series. Even that lineup you posted pales in comparison to the the truly despicable Laker lineup of:

PG: Derek Fisher - because...he's a Laker.
SG: Kobe - don't even get me started...
SF: Rick Fox - evil incarnate
PF: Robert Horry - (see list above)
C: Shaq - lame insults aside, he was just too damn dominant.

..and for extra credit

PF/C: Mark Madsen - his goofy/intense cheering from the bench drives me INSANE!
