[Game] Kings @ Rockets, 26 Mar 2000 EST

Looks like another painful loss. I guess it's good that I actually care this late in the season. I just wish they could have gotten a W for Cuz

The guys are tired and flat. No legs left. Terrible rotations again. Despicable misuse of the bench.

Yep. I don't know why Smart was surprised when he subbed out all 5 starters almost at the same time and the bench came in and looked cold. Here we are 35 minutes of game time later, and the starters are just gassed.

In Smarts defense, the bench blew a 20 point lead in minutes.

There's a logical way to balance this team, but there's no way Smart would make the move.

I thought it was a 12 point lead going down to 8, and I don't know why that should be shocking when the lineup is Fredette, Salmons, Garcia, Hayes, and Outlaw. That's a bad lineup, and just compounded by the fact that 4 of them came in at the same time, all cold.

You mean Keith Smart is not logical? That implies he's dumb. A, hmmm, err, I guess he is just that - DUMB! Even Westphal had a certain logic but just couldn't get or keep Kings players onboard with it.

If Tyreke Evans wants to be more than a 3rd option in the league he can't have games where he completely disappears as often as he does. Also, Hayes is killing us on both ends of the floor. He does great at shutting down big men on the inside but he gets burned every time from the outside or on drives. And his 1" vert is cringe inducing... he can't make some of the easiest put backs.

Hayes is a joke. Signs that big contract and proceeds to play the worse basketball of his career.

Having teammates/coach who don't treat him as the 5th option would help. Nice of you to bring that up without mentioning IT/MT not allowing him to get in a rhythm as they were too busy shooting.

I cannot stand it when players foul when there is a difference on the clock. In this case it was about 5 second differential. Use your head.

Bottom line here is that we are a very young team so we are susceptible to stupid plays like fouling late in the game like that. Let's look at the bright side. DMC is a ****ing man child. This guy can easily be as good or better than Chris Webber. We will build around him.

That was the bright point. Frankly there is no lottery team with a brighter future right now because of that one player. As long as he doesn't end up on murder charges some night after he watches our chuckers throw up 20 bricks while he calls for the ball he's the league's next dominant center, and there has never been anything more valuable to have in the game of basketball.

Well... to be fair he got 26 shots and 12 FT attempts. I'd say that's getting the ball quite a bit
