The theme for the game: More is Less

Martin played like the parents were back and he needed to adopt the dependent passive role.

Salmons played like he didn't know who he was.

Garcia didn't play enough. He's one of the few guys who seemed to have the right attitude about Bibby and Artest coming back - The hell with it; I'm playing my game no matter what.

Bibby played like Bibby - good O, little D

Beno started off with 2 turnovers, and then seemed to right himself; he didn't play enough.

Artest - very rusty

Miller - doesn't match up with this team, and when you put him and Bibby in the same lineup the augment each other's non-athleticism.

Moore - he was pitiful.

Theus - he was confused

Petrie - he's waiting and seeing....

I dont' agree with much here.

I'm not sure you can accurately evaluate this team against a very good Toronto team on the road with 2 or 3 new guys in the mix.

That said, we are not very good, but we are better then I thought we would be at the beginning of the season. We need a quality power forward.

I guess we should give them the benefit of the doubt. Bibby's in there for the first time all season and Ron and Kevin are easing their way back into the fold. Sure the chemistry was better when they were all out, but we still had a losing record. When all is said and done, I hope Martin is starting again with Artest and Bibby getting traded.

By the end of the year:

Starters

PG-Udrih
SG-Martin
SF-Salmons
PF-Moore
C-Miller
-------
Bench

PG-Someone we get in a trade
SG-Douby
SG-Jones
SF-Garcia
PF-Williams
PF-Someone we get in a trade
C-Hawes
----

Traded

Bibby
Artest
Thomas

Injured

Abdur-Rahim

Looks about right. I think the PF and PG spots are actually more likely--or at least should be--also covered by draft picks we add in the Bibby and Artest/Thomas trades.

I think we wait until summer to think about dealing Miller unless we get a no brainer deal. Spencer's just not going to be ready for another season or so (think what the Lakers did with Bynum--we just need to bring in Vlade as a big man coach/European scout)

r.i.p. own hart, you where one of my favs...

anyways, someone said bibby isnt athletic, i dont think this is true hes probly about as athletic as most point guards.. being athletic doesnt have that much to do with being bad at d, which i think bibby is a little below average at and not terrible, same goes to beno. And i also think brad played pretty well tonight... we cant stop big men, thats just how it is.

ps. never thought i'd see an owen hart reference on here but i guess the kings where in canada tonight.....

Beno should play more, 18 minutes and 7 assists-3TO, Bibby 28 min 0 assists-4TO.

Kings have K-Mart, Salmons and Cisco, all great shooters and Bibby should take care to deliver them ball not just look to the basket.

I say trade Bibby and BTW, Miki Moore is joke.

Bibby can't have assists because that would involve giving the ball up without shooting it

I was able to get good enough reception during my drive today to listen to the first half of the game and heard a few calls that sounded like Mike passed the ball to Ron so that he could miss a three again. Was the lack of assists due to only selfishness, or were there bad decisions/missed shots?

Not asking to be a smart *** here, by the way, just curious since I couldn't watch it.

1. Not so much selfishness as a desire to show he was back, IMHO.

2. Some bad decisions if you call passing the ball to Artest beyond the arc a bad decision.

3. Missed shots were also a part, but not a big part as #1 and 2 were more predominant.

Mike was playing shooting guard today. He shot most of the balls he got. He was on the floor with a unit that had no clue or cohesion. I don't think that Mike was more or less selfish than usual. He doesn't know how to play off the bench which is normal. He didn't play bad at all except defense but the whole team didn't defend. This loss has nothing to do with Mike as an individual. It is a typical - "more is less" kind of thing. If You remember most of the games of the last season when Muss was in "charge" - it was a carbon copy. The effort that is needed for Kings to compete - will not come from Bibby and Ron. It comes from new. hungry players. Mike should play on a team that is going somewhere. He can help there. We just have no use for him in this situation.
Now, Ron sucked big time but that was wxpected

I personally think that people are looking too much into Bibby's numbers right now. He wasn't playing selfishly out there. He was passing the ball and largely getting his points in the rhythem of the offense. He really should have had about 4 assists today, but too many missed shots and bad decisions really make that number a lot lower than it should be. Though, his passes were not crisp today, and were picked off numerous times. Maybe that's just rust.

That said, I was practically screaming at Bibby to penetrate and dish A LOT more than he did. Tonight, it was either a few dribbles and then a jumpshot (which he normally made with good efficiency) or just passing it off around the perimeter, well, passively. I don't know, maybe I'm just too used to Beno always being in attack mode and putting pressure on the defense. But I really believe that Mike can be a rich man's Beno; that's what he was early in his career with the Grizzlies. Is he willing to create shots for anyone but himself anymore?

Ron really had a horrible game. Not only that, but he also threw off the game of ALL of our wing players. Salmons started strong, but then was benched and pouted thereafterwards. Kevin was looking meek until the late third/fourth quarter, when he finally realized that Ron was not doing anything to help the team. Ron just isn't able to blend into an offense, he has to BE the offense to be successful, and that just won't fly here anymore.

Basically, Bricklayer was right about our 2/3 position; there is just too much talent there not enough minutes. What I think is that we should trade Ron now while his value is high, but keep Bibby until he restores his value enough to trade at the deadline. From there, we can hopefully get a good spot in the lottery and finally rebuild the right way.

This wasnt on Mike, blind hatred is bad. Mike did pass plenty. His defense was n't aweful per normal, either. It wasnt great, but it wasnt bad.
We were going to lose this game. Too many changes in such a short time and Toronto is really good and well coached.
Also, Theus was absolutely dominated tonight. The double on Bosh was silly with all the 3 pointers falling.
