Kings@ Nuggets 3/30/11

And that's why Thornton doesn't pass.....

Man, I would love to have a minute behind closed doors with these announcers.

I will feel more confident when the Kings continue to play like this after Evans returns to the starting lineup.

I'm listening to Grant and Jerry and must be missing half the show. I think we don't appreciate OUR guys much until we hear the other team's annoumcers.

How many games do you need? :) If anything , they should get better. I saw a pass by Cuz that will work in the futiure. AND, and an amazing pass for Reke to Beno - they know it other and it worked. GP, don't screw with this team much.

Well now, I wouldn't say that...

IMHO, Reynolds and Napear are a bottom-five announce team in the NBA. Don't know how many non-Kings Nuggets games you get to watch, Glenn, but Marlowe and Hastings are actually pretty good, I think.

I've always felt that the most reliable test of whether or not an announce team is good is not what they sound like when they're calling a game against your team, but what they sound like when they're calling a game against two teams that you're not in the tank for.

If I could make a recommendation, I would ask you to listen to them call a game like Nuggets versus Grizzlies, rather than Nuggets versus Kings, before you decide that they're not any good.

Slipping into philophical mode: I rmember when the fans were in disbelief when Hawes and Thompson weren't in the rookiesoph game. Well, they wren't that good. This team is good and there is nothing that the addition of a veteramn or great rookie SF won't cure. I facetiously (how do you spell that) said before we got Thornton that we had a great bench and someone came back with "yeah, but two are starters." True. We got a 4th starter with a mracle trade. Now we need the SF and the bench is a bench and it is great.

I haven't heard any except I hear a lot of complaints. I HAVE heard Houston when they had the baton twirler announcing. It was awful.

Concurrence is flowing freely with your post, Citrus. Your included image is icing on the cake, thank you.

Just want to see one game when he starts, is all. I look at it like this: when all that **** kicked off after Webber got injured, and it seemed like most of the board ended up taking sides, I was clearly in the "Team Webber" camp. And, had I known then how it would all play out, I still would have taken Webber's side. However, most reasonable people would agree that he came back from injury way too early.

It is to Evans' lasting credit that he hasn't tried to force himself back into the starting lineup immediately after coming back, but I can't imagine anybody believes that he's going to stay on the bench once he's back to one hundred percent. It is an entirely different proposition to expect someone to accept a "lesser" role when they are recovering/coming off the bench and to accept the same role when they are healthy/starting. Eventually, Evans is going to want more minutes and more touches than he's been getting, and I am cautiously optimistic as to whether or not the team's chemistry will remain at this high level when that happens.

lawson doing a number on our best defender. Imagine what he would be doing if a scrub like Evans or Thornton was defending him.

Yeah, well, Houston's broadcast team (Worrell, Bullard and Drexler, formerly Murphy), is firmly in that bottom five, too.

Pretty sure he has a 27 minute limit through today, and gets re-evaluated tomorrow. Might see him start friday.

Lawson has elevated his game since Carmelo left.

That whole team has elevated their game since Melo left. I forget what their post trade record is, but its a bit above .500 (IIRC).

Kinda feel good really. Melo did the Nuggets wrong, and now he's playing for a lesser team in NY.

12-4, actually. But yeah, the whole team has played better.

I think it's more of everyone else getting involved.

But I couldn't be happier den is doing better, and ny is declining, even as a native new yorker.

This is an ignorant question, but do you know off-hand if Carmelo got that 3 year extension he was seeking with the trade?
