It's been like this for awhile. Walton likes Fox in transition, but not to run the offense.
And then keeps trying to send Davion, Buddy, and Haliburton into the same no mans land of no spacing in the half court haha. Mostly from the baseline or side pick and roll. Get that **** into the teeth and work from there. Cut this weave run the clock down garbage, play man to man switch on the other end and if it quits working then expand. Every year they try and work their way into the right system from the wrong end.

Quickly becoming apparent that the Kings can't afford to have Davion off the floor for very long. Even if his offense takes some time to get going, his defense is too important on all these elite ball-handlers.
The concern is the with the help system they are trying to run he's a liability. No Monte, you can't have 6 foot guards help in the paint and then try to close out on players 8 inches taller. Doesn't work, lol. However, if they run that aggressive man to man, Davion alone is going to push this team up the defensive ratings ladder by himself. With Fox dialed in, and Tyrese playing as help in the passing lanes? It's all there Luke! Just see it!

True. The personnel on this roster says pick and roll/draw and kick on offense. But Luke has a system he wants to run, no matter what. Good players end up looking bad through no fault of their own.

I mean Holmes is one of the best rim-runners in the NBA and Walton still refuses to make it a consistent part of the offense.
Thank goodness Holmes has appeared to develop a real hook shot after getting the money. It's come in handy more than it's needed to this season. The thing is though, whether he's getting that push shot look is a great indicator of how well the pick and roll is working.

I'm to the point now where when Fox has the ball and is dribbling the ball around I have that bad feeling like we all do when Buddy is doing the same thing. So far this year, he's just not making good decisions.

The thing is we're not putting him in a position to succeed. There aren't many players who can make something happen out of side iso like we keep running with him.

See, it's the same story with this joker. They run a middle pick and roll, Fox gets an easy look. Next play? Send him to the corner again. You get out what you put in. Over the course of an entire season you'll be less trying to play genius at the coaching level rather than taking the easiest route.
