[Game] Kings @ Lakers - 11/11/12

At this point, what I'd like to see is for Smart to go to a nine-man rotation. Starters: Cousins, Evans, Thomas, Thompson, Johnson. 6th Thornton, 7th Hayes, 8th Robinson, 9th Fredette. Sign some stiff to be the fourth big, but don't break open the glass, except for emergency. Garcia becomes Mateen, and the rest can pound sand.

i would absolutely love this. and i think any coach we hired would probably do this. but we are stuck with Smart, who thinks everyone needs there play time! and everyone needs their juicebox and a snack at the end of the game

James Johnson in the worse starting sf in the league. For me that's the biggest disappointment of the season so far.

I never said that. What is it with Jimmer fanboys taking everything out of context and then exaggerating for effect?
No I said it and wouldn't have if you ever had anything good to say about him...especially when he shows what he is capable of doing. Yes, I'm a Jimmer fan turned Kings fan and watch all their games but it seems like many of you long time fans don't realize that Jimmer plays for the Kings...he is not the enemy and can help this team win.

The coach is making the decisions and they are not that great...plus if they were... Jimmer would not get as much playing time anyway...he is not ready for a big role as of yet simmer down and appreciate that the team has hired an inept coach that makes sure they all get playing time...ok

James Johnson is the perfect defensive starting SF for this team but if his role is not defined then he does not fit very well at all does he

If Johnson wasnt an excellent defender, which is what hes been so far, this would be true. There are plenty of SF's in the league that i prefer Johnson over.

lets see if we have all our players we start
IT
Tyreke
James Johnson
Jason Thompson and let me see here who else oh yeah
DMC
then here is a brilliant idea... we play them until we are up by maybe 10... maybe 20 if its someone like i dunno san antonio, or LA, or other team that is a playoff contender.... and then we might sub no more than two out at a time to give certain guys rest and then bring them back after maybe 3 or 4 minutes breather
That might work...what do other teams do?????

but then we would have a chance to win games, and thats clearly not the Maloofs goal

That really is what you see with so much fo the mess we have. Smart in the end has tuirned out to be completely spineless. Like a politician searchign for votes. Everyone has to play. He goes around and blows bubbles up every single player's behind and tells him that he too has a green light. Its amazing after Westphal sunk us with a similar no defined positions approach that we've got another one in charge. What that speaks to is the incompetence of the people hiring these fools.

Given enough stature that these guys would listen to me, there is not a doubt in my mind that I could take this group of players, no trades needed, and get them organized and competitive. We have enough talents, but its just buried by democratic stupidity.

i think i have seen a brilliant sig on here somewhere it says
"Muck the Faloofs" or some such brilliant commentary

the people who evaluate the talent need to tell the coach where the talent is....... but i do not think that is in the cards here total dc with the leadership here

yep. the Kings fans need to uprise and get our voices heard that Smart needs to go. the media is to spineless to call him out.

I wish it was that simple. The personnel on this team is overrated around here. This roster doesn't fit and has some clear deficits, can't ignore that just because of our poor coaching and youth.

i don't disagree that this roster is mismatched. i HATED the trade that brought john salmons back to sacramento and resulted in the drafting of jimmer fredette. i HATED the signing of aaron brooks this offseason, a move that appears to have done nothing but duplicate skills already found across any combination of marcus thornton, isaiah thomas, and tyreke evans. these transactions directly contribute to the utter cluster**** that is the sacramento kings' rotation. however, you can't honestly tell me that a much more competent coach--a rick adelman, a jerry sloan, even a nate mcmillan--wouldn't accelerate the growth of these very young, impressionable kings. the "personal responsibility" schtick gets bandied about around here far too much. i agree that you'd like to see the kings mature of their own accord, but that's hoping for fantasy in the modern nba. people forget that professional basketball players don't come into the league as mature as they did on average even a decade ago, because every major draftee with star potential comes out after one year of college ball these days. don't you think an extra year at memphis would have benefited tyreke? or an extra year or two at kentucky for cousins? these kids aren't just "kids" by colloquial expression. their basketball IQ's need augmenting upon entering the nba, no matter what their draft position is. a good head coach knows how to teach. a good head coach knows how to lead. a good head coach knows how to command respect, knows how to take charge and initiative, and for chrissakes, knows how to trim a rotation to develop consistency in his tremendously young team, no matter whose feelings he hurts...
