[Game] Kings @ Lakers - 11/11/12

it would be interesting to see the success of this team, and Jimmer, if we had a real coach who actually ran some offense with some off ball screens to try to get open shooters.

i wouldnt necessarily give him much credit for the Defense. we just got lucky teams shot a bad % against us the first few games. we are about to give up 100 points again. i give the defensive credit to the addition of James Johnson, and the improvement of Tyreke's individual defense

Im convinced Smart drowned your puppy and made you watch. 1035 of your 1036 posts have referenced Smart destroying the universe in some way

I'm not a Jimmer guy, but I don't know that he isn't better than Brooks. We certainly have a lot more invested in him.

Brooks is on that WAY to long list of guys I would just tell to go home. Brooks, Salmons, Cisco, and Outlaw. That's enough money for a max player, by the way. Sickening.

People were ripping on him for our defense last year. So he teaches defense. In doing so our team forgot how to play offense. Sure a good coach can reduce that, but smart can't guide the ball in with his mind. He can't magically give Reke a jumpshot or stop Cousins and JT from making stupid plays. At some point players have to be held accountable.

young players are often frustrating. a pee poor head coach who can't make up his mind and consequently stunts their growth is infinitely more frustrating. you hold a veteran kings team accountable for its failures in the early 00's. you hold ownership, management, and coaching accountable for a young team's inability to grow. it's be one thing if we could mark the successes of those high up in the kings' food chain. but when it's OBVIOUS how badly they've failed to assemble a competitive roster and OBVIOUS how badly they've attempted to execute anything that even remotely resembles a consistent game plan, it's harder to fault these very young players for their shortcomings...

constructively i would say that this has been an eye opening beginning to the season and i was hoping to be more pleasantly surprised.. but the nightmare is progressing according to the ownership's plans...but they wont win i will still watch ...i have no beer money.... i will take donations... maybe we can start a kings fan beer pool for all fans that refuse to stop watching lol

It's pretty clear a major overhaul is needed with the core of this team. Whether it be a big trade in the next few weeks or firing Smart, something needs to be done. This combination of players and coach is just an atrocious fit

funny tweet i came across

"If things couldn't get any worse for the Kings, Jimmer has 15 points in 8 minutes. Fredette fans will have no use for reason ever again."

A couple more losses and I doubt our starters will be happy with this 20 something mins per game crap just in order to get the 11th guy time. It would be one thing if we're winning. But getting your playing time cut repeatedly while losing? Players won't go along with this much longer.

Everyone is playing much better D. Even when Reke and Johnson aren't in we've played solid d.

So trade guys when their value is in the toilet? Yeah, that'll get some good players in return.

The guy is a dead eye shooter and quite frankly, i'd take him shooting the ball over anyone in the league not named Nash or Ray Allen.

the DMC/Trob situation is a double whammy, because now it somewhat will let Smart off the hook with the crazy rotations in the post game conference. even though he managed to make it much worse than it needed to be

You need to stop. You people never seem to realize how much you **** things up for the object of your desire. People grow to hate your inanity, and that gets carried over to the object as they get blamed for it.

those who fail to see the connection between the low basketball IQ of the youngest team in the nba and the failures of its head coach are either not paying attention or they don't know much about basketball, themselves...

I wish it was that simple. The personnel on this team is overrated around here. This roster doesn't fit and has some clear deficits, can't ignore that just because of our poor coaching and youth.

if your trying to beat the lakers and your down normal starters you start the best guys you have and play them until they are winning lol not until your down by 2 lololololol silly fans i mean silly coach lol

Well, this is a horrible end to what had been a great Veteran's Day.

You know, I like Garcia, I always have. And, I have a soft spot in my heart for long-tenured Kings (Garcia is currently Top-8 all-time games played in a Kings uniform in the Sacramento Era, and 2nd all-time for a player who has never been traded). I don't necessarily want to see him play, but I don't want to see him gone, like the vocal majority of posters on this board: if he gets nailed to the bench, though, I won't lose any sleep, either. Best-case scenario for me would be for the team to decline his option at the end of the year, but he takes less money (league minimum?) to stay, and be the 12th man, because he loves the team.

At this point, what I'd like to see is for Smart to go to a nine-man rotation. Starters: Cousins, Evans, Thomas, Thompson, Johnson. 6th Thornton, 7th Hayes, 8th Robinson, 9th Fredette. Sign some stiff to be the fourth big, but don't break open the glass, except for emergency. Garcia becomes Mateen, and the rest can pound sand.

metta or ron he really was the last good player we had....now thats saying something guy leaves the team and has to change his name.....
