[Game] Kings @ Lakers - 11/11/12

smart just doesnt cut it as a head coach, hes a great lead assistant, interim head coach and im sure he's a wonderful and nice human being and everyone within the organzation likes him as a person but his inability to be a professional head coach is painfully evident, i wouldnt mind him remaining on the staff, but this team needs a veteran proven head coach badly.

exactly what i have been saying from day 1. completely agree.

tell that to the minnesota timberwolves, who have been coached to a winning record by rick adelman without kevin love and ricky rubio. it matters who leads a team...

I agree, Smart is not a great coach. However, the collective basketball IQ on this team is not high. This team is selfish. Minny has intelligent, unselfish players along with a great coach.

Players who don't get regular minutes, who have no idea what their role is within the team and who have no concept of winning within which to flourish will almost always regress to being selfish players. It's the players who know the philosophy of their team, have a defined role and know they will be utilized fairly can afford to be generous with each other.

perfectly stated.

adelman is a better coach... either play well or sit...thats it... simple and it works it changes players habits if you don't play well or make silly mistakes you sit plus you play the starters until your up or someone is injured or needs a break bring in the subs one at a time even Minny plays better because of him don't doubt it:)

We already know our talent doesn't fit. We've argued that for 2+ years. But that's a separate issue from using the talent we do have correctly. We're not. Not a single player, other than maybe JT, is playing near their capability. That's largely coaching. We can still use the talent we do have correctly and play them to their strengths, and we're not. We nowhere near a top 6 team in the West, but talent wise we're better than we're showing.

Agreed.

u know what can fix a selfish team? a coach that actually teaches the team some freaking offense

People were ripping on him for our defense last year. So he teaches defense. In doing so our team forgot how to play offense. Sure a good coach can reduce that, but smart can't guide the ball in with his mind. He can't magically give Reke a jumpshot or stop Cousins and JT from making stupid plays. At some point players have to be held accountable.

those who fail to see the connection between the low basketball IQ of the youngest team in the nba and the failures of its head coach are either not paying attention or they don't know much about basketball, themselves...

with our improvement in defense, id like to see jimmer out there more. in the limited amounts we have seen him, he seems more confident on offense and more aggressive on defense.

No, im not a jimmer fanboy. Id just like to see him succeed, like most of the city does, and i think he can in the right situation, hopefully that is as a Kings in Sacramento

We didn't forget how to play offense. Forget? Smart never ran a halfcourt offense. All season last year it was non existent, we just ran more and got up more shots. There's been no resemblance of an offense to forget.

i wouldnt necessarily give him much credit for the Defense. we just got lucky teams shot a bad % against us the first few games. we are about to give up 100 points again. i give the defensive credit to the addition of James Johnson, and the improvement of Tyreke's individual defense

yay wow this league is simply amazing....i really want this team to stay maybe they would play better if the team was gonna stay ....just look at outlaw and jummer make their shots ....yay
