Kings get #5 pick

As I've been saying in the other thread I made about Wesley Johnson, his skills aren't that far off of Evan Turner. The major differences between them is Johnson is a better shooter and Turner is a better ball handler. If Johnson was in Turner's position, Johnson could very well be the #2 pick in the draft.

My top vote goes to Johnson.

I'll be good if we end up with Greg Monroe if we don't get Cousins. The guy really has that Lamar Odom game in him plus he's young and full of potential. Not very athletic though.

thats what scares me about him. it's like getting webber after his knee blew out.

A far less athletic Lamar Odom that can't handle the ball as well him? That doesn't sound like a very good player.

Turner is quicker off the dribble, and Johnson is more athletic. Turner can create his own shot and create for others, while Johnson can't create for himself and he's not good enough to create for others. Not much similarity in their game. I think you are reaching to compare the two.

I don't mind Johnson but not at 5 when there are other players that imo are a better fit for the team and a better player overall.

Aminu is a better prospect than Johnson but I don't want Aminu because he will have to adjust to playing SF and all I have seen of him is a year at PF where he showed no SF type of game. Kind of in the same boat as Davis from NC. Reminds me a bit of Al Thorton. I like his game overall but he doesn't really have a position.

So in throwing BPA out the window we need to look at needs.. Definitely a big man since Beno is a good PG to put along side Evans for the time being. Who is left after 4th is the players fall where they are supposed to?

Aldrich, Udoh, Motiejunas (who I would not touch with a 10ft pole since I know nothing about him), Whiteside and Orton. Patterson and Davis to a lesser extent.

Scratch Motiejunas, Davis, Patterson, Orton and Whiteside from that list. Whiteside because he reminds me of Patrick O'Bryant for some odd reason..

Aldrich and Udoh are left.. I like Aldrich better. Seen more of him.. I have only seen a few games of Udoh and will have to wait for workouts, and measurements to change my mind.

He's already skilled at his age - can score from inside, face-up and drive to the basket and he's a good passer for a pf. It's just that he's not athletic and finishes softly a-la JT & Hawes.

Really now - the difference between Turner and Johnson is far bigger than some are making it out. It's not nearly as simple as one is a better ball handler versus one is a better shooter/athlete. I don't have the time to debate it now but you're clutching at straws. You will find that out next year.

What about Hassan Whiteside? I think he is everything the Kings are looking for in a Center. He is a 7 footer, very athletic, great shotblocker, and is he is young so lots of potential, but if we do draft a center dont you think there will be chemistry problems with Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes not getting enough minuets, stuff like that could really hurt the team, but if we have a chance at Demarcus Cousins the Kings should go for him.

And we cant draft a SG because we dont know if Wesley Johnson or Al Farouq Aminu can play that spot, thats why we were hoping for Evan Turner or John Wall.

Dont be surpised if we see alot of trading in this years draft ( Andres Nocioni) ;)

PG: Tyreke Evans / Beno Udrih - Solid backcourt
SG: Free Agent / Francisco Garcia - We need an outside shooter for Evans driving
SF: Donte Greene / Omri Casspi - Alot of length, size , and atheticm at that spot
PF: Carl Landry / Jason Thompson - Well rounded power forwards
C: Demarcus Cousins / Spencer Hawes - Spencer Hawes sucks lol

I really don't see David Kahn thinking for himself even if it's possible. He will draft whatever the media is pushing for a number 4 pick.... talent, troubles, fit... whatever... Cousins will absolutely be the TWolves pick. They could have incredible workouts from a number of players with a better fit, but it won't matter.

So we gotta start trusting in our ace in the hole... Petrie experience with an eye for draft talent. There's a good chance he will embarrass half the GM's in the top ten picks.... my fingers are crossed. ;)
