KINGS FANS DON'T GIVE UP!:Interesting Rick Adelman Coaching Statistic

#1
After a little research on Basketball Reference.com, in the Rick Adelman era (624 regular season games, 63 playoff games, 395 regular season wins, 32 playoff wins).....

Kings are 16-7 after 20 point losses. It is amazing that in 687 games that the Kings have loss by more than 20 points only 23 times. But that they have bounced back to win the very next game MORE TIMES THAN NOT tells me of a sense of making adjustments and being resilent. Memorable games that stick out.

If the Kings can find a way to pull out A WIN without Artest, be resiliant, make adjustments, NO TELLING WHAT CAN HAPPEN FOR THE REST OF THE SERIES!!!!

If they win the next game, I will do a triple backflip of joy and amazement.
I don't think it will be because of the above stat, but its not impossible in my mind for us to pull this off. Ron is a strange beast. As is his effect on us. We've won games with him being flat out awful just from his presence and how we responded to him. Well...at least in theory, him getting suspended could be one more way for him to inspire us. Throw in the Spurs feeling they've got it in the bag (and they almost NEVER go up 2-0 on teams)...and you have the makings of a potential upset.

Of cours that all exists in the 10% probability brakcet, while the 90% is that we are outmanned, disorganized, and go down in a heap. But either way its not too much different than if Ron had mildly sprained an ankle in Game 1, and had to miss one game.

'05 Spur's playoffs:

Denver: 1-1
Seattle: 2-0
Phoenix: 2-0
Detroit: 2-0

If there is a bright side...

I hope Garcia gets minutes to play his way back into the rotation for games 3 and 4 at home. Hart brings nothing, and I think it's been a huge mistake to bury Cisco who had proven he could play prior to the ankle injury.

I think it will go like this:

Bibby pg
Bonzi sg
Cisco sf
Thomas pf
Miller c

with free substitutions, that is cross-positioning

Hart pg
Martin sg, sf
Rahim sf, pf, c
Williamson sf, pf

perhaps even defensive cameo appearances from Price and Potapenko

I think it will be an unorthodox game from the Kings perspective

KHTK has already reported that the lineup will be as follows

PG - Bibby
SG - Martin
SF - Wells
PF - Thomas
C - Miller

And Martin has the defensive assignment of Parker

Well, it is apparently time for the young lad to do his stuff. Now or never. If Kevin can turn in an "A+" game, he may go down in Kings lore. I hope he doesn't choke.
