Well, look at the video yet again. Cousins takes a swipe at one of the refs as he's being escorted off the court. How idiotic is that?! Expect a hefty NBA fine at least over that heroic act by continuing anger management prospect Big Cuz. All the Kings you mentioned were seasoned vets when their for the most part single incident of note occured. Cousins is a rookie who apparently does not appreciate his first year carrying bags status. Cousins has repeatedly displayed immaturity and behavioral issue blow-ups - certainly not a pattern with the other Kings mentioned in scraps. Maybe Cousins teammates are sick and tired of the Boogie BS. Maybe they're no longer willing to come to his aid when it looks like the pressure is getting to him again - with no telling what he might do. To me Cousins is not a villian, he's just a stupid rookie unable to control his juvenile emotions.
As Cousins was walking off the floor he brushed the ref's hand off of his side. I doubt he even knew it was a ref as he wasn't even looking. But you sum it up perfectly. If his name wasn't DeMarcus Cousins, no one would make a big deal out of it. If his name was Marcus Thornton, or Dalembert, you, and all the other people that can't wait to jump on Cousins, would be defending the others.
What happens is what happens. Cousins didn't start it. No teammate jumped in to have his back, or seperate him from the fray. His name shouldn't matter. Only the facts should matter, and the same facts should be applied equally no matter who it is. There are star players around the league that have far more technicals, and ejections than Cousins. Howard is a technical magnet, but hell, he's a good guy.
I'll tell you what you have here. A player thats going to be a star in the league that didn't get any support from his teammates and now on this fourm he's not getting any support from his fans. If I were him, I'd be getting a little sick of it. Yeah, he lost his temper. He's a 20 year old emotionally immature kid. For all I know maybe Ridnour did what he did on purpose with the intention of getting the response that he did. It was Minny that tried to intentionally get under Cousins skin in the summer league. We actually heard Reggie Theus instructing the swedish center to provoke him to get him thrown out of the game.
As for his teammates. Maybe the whole thing happened too fast for them to react. From everything I've heard, he's very well liked by his teammates, and not one can accuse him of being selfish out on the floor. Cousins had only taken 2 shots in the game, and had 4 assists. One would think they'd be appreciative of having a center thats willing to set them up. What I don't understand, is why you, and others can't just accept the incident as just that, and not an indictment of everything attached to Cousins. I mean my god, he didn't punch anyone. Which Christie did. Which Jackson attempted to do, and which Corliss did. We also have no idea what was being said by the Minny players. If you watch the replay carefully, Cousins seems more surprised at getting pushed, and looks at the ref, who immediately blew her whistle. Then suddenly he gets madd and starts walking toward the Minny players. Something provoked him, and I suspect it was something that was said by another player.
Can't prove any of that, and I know you can say it shouldn't matter. But the last time somebody said something about my mother, they got clocked. Yeah, I know, hard to believe that I lost my temper. Hey, it was a long time ago. I was young and immature at the time.
