Kings active in trade talks?

I don't see the miller thing happening with Thornton or Jimmer. I would have to think the nuggets have better options than Thornton, and trading fredette for him would add more salary for next year when we already have enough committed

I wonder if PDA could pull of a trade in which we trade everyone on our roster not named Cousins or Gay for everyone on the Thunder's roster not named Durant or Westbrook. This is my contribution to the thread at this time.

MT for a soon to be 38 year old Andre?? hmm.. Besides the savings, how does it benefit?
It is about the savings -- Thornton's contract is widely considered unmoveable given current production. Managing to dump it would be a coup.

And having a backup PG worth the name, and an extra veteran voice, would definitely help. Would force Ben back into the starting lineup unfortunately, with I guess Jimmer or maybe Gay as his backup. but not as if we've got any production from that position anyway.

Another thought, rumor is that the Knicks are now trying to trade that idiot J.R. Smith. Can't imagine why anybody would want him, and its practically a whole new organization in Denver, but he has roots there. Maybe you could try to swing a Marcus to NY, Smith to Denver, Miller to us thing.

truly, hate them washed up 28yr old bigs averaging 11.0pts 10.3pts 3.6ast (an underrated aspect) 1.1stl 1.2blks coming off seasons when they were both All Stars and First Team All Defense.

Hate 'em.
Brick he is one of those guys that you just don't want to pay attention to. The kind that says things that is so,far off base you respond.

The problem with that is New York is even more desperate for a point guard than the Kings are currently. They probably want Miller just as much, but maybe they're so completely done with JR that they don't care how they untie that knot.

In regards to the Andre Miller Deal
If there is any real truth of turning Thornton into Andre Miller, then here's another wrinkle.

In my quest to secure Rondo my current proposal has us sending IT/Thornton/JT/DWill + picks to Boston for Rondo, Wallace, & (Pressey or Brooks).

Well since Andre Miller's contract isn't guaranteed for next year, you could actually utilize that to your advantage in making a deal for Rondo.

Basically we'd send Thornton over to the Nuggets.
The Nuggets would send Miller & Foye over to Boston and the rest of the deal would go as advertised. It could help in the Boston deal because if they don't actually see Thornton as an asset then they could just cut Miller and it would save them salary as they'd only be dealing with Foye's 3m contract instead of Thornton's 8m contract.

Just a thought.

The rumor is we are offering jimmer and a 2nd round pick or Thornton and a 2nd round pick. Why should we have to throw in the pick. I mean miller is ok but, somebody convince me he is worth more than player for player.

Kind of makes sense for Thornton since we'd be trimming such a huge amount of salary. Jimmer probably has more potential but miller is more of a fit. No matter what, miller is pretty washed up so I wouldn't expect much from this.

Other than just not liking Noah for some personal reason, I have absolutely no idea why any Kings fan wouldn't want the guy on this team. He's a guaranteed double double every night and doesn't care about taking shots, which fits in well with the scorers we already have. He plays good post/help defense, rebounds exceptionally well, can pass, and is the ultimate hustle player. What's the problem? It's not like he's 38, like Andre Miller.

Admittedly, I was upset when Chicago drafted Noah ONE spot ahead of the Kings several years back, so acquiring him now would be a bit of redemption as far as I'm concerned :)

I like a deal that trades MT's contract for Miller. Just start IT at the 1, Dre at the 2 and bring Ben off the bench early. Sprinkle in a little Jimmer then run the all forward + DMC/IT line up. Andre Miller has always been cagey. If Ben can grasp just a little of the wiley vets tricks then the deal is worth it.

That is a well thought out plan. My 2 cents - 1. I do think Pete will want to see how rondo looks post injury before giving market value 2. The lingering possibility that IT is the truth

I do think were going to hear a lot of chatter because I believe our FO is going to want to dump some salary given our outlook but being the somewhat pessimistic hardcore kings fan I am I don't see where the dump will come from. If we all know Thornton can't play the nuggets gm might as well. There is a lot of years on JT contract. Landry - we outbid everyone pre-injury. Outlaw? enough said.

Unfortunate reality is that I think we are going to need to attach assetts or take back equal dumps with less money/more years. Would love to be wrong, well see

I watched a bit of Lorenzo Brown last year in college he's currently on the Philly team and has good size/length for a PG and seemed like a decent defender, he's played limited mins what do other people think of his potential? If the Kings deem he has ok potential maybe offer Jimmer for him.

Also Myck Kabongo is still out there I'm pretty sure good pass first/defending PG
