Kings active in trade talks?

I thought when you blow it up you try get cap space (to try sign new free agents) or draft pick.......that's what Boston did/is doing.......With Deng coming off the books and Gibson coming to us that's like 18 million in cap space
There's been talk if them amnistying boozer for 2 years so that deal plus amnisty boozer would leave give them 30 mill in cap

Another guy I would not mind having a look at is Amir Johnson he's a similar sort of player to Gibson but I am not sure if he's all that mentally stable.
Agreed. Have him on one of my fantasy teams and his minutes have been inconsistent, but he's a good defender, efficient on offense (doesn't try too much) and would seem to be able to play next to Cousins. Definitely worth a look. Not sure what direction Toronto wants to go--seemingly rebuilding, but have backed into a playoff spot because the Atlantic Division is so bad.

I think that the next guy that may get traded is going to be one of these guys...JT, GV, or PPat. I think after the staff sees DWill play for a bit they may decide that he is most suited for the stretch 4 type. I think that JT could bring back a young desirable small forward. There is depth at the PF spot and there is depth at the PG spot. Seems like these 3 have some value to bring back a piece. If by chance we can get a more established guy coming back, then maybe we can attach a guy like MT or Hayes in the deal.

Hamady shouldn't be playing more than 5 minutes a game. He's simply not that talented and there isn't much benefit to him playing more minutes, except contributing to tanking.
And that's why I want to play him. ;) Max minutes to Hamady is our way to the #1 pick. Either play him or send him to the D league. I realize there are always end of the bench players but at least fill the end of the bench with players who serve some purpose.

Sad fact about Hamady. He's already 27.
He's 40 years younger than I am. :) 41 coming on 42 if you want to be picky. BTW, there is an N'Daiye who is 7'6" guy at UC Irvine with an 8'1" wingspan. Is he a relative or is N'daiye as common in Senegal as Lopez or Johnson around here?

Common last name. The N'daiye kid has been decent so far. He's only a freshmen so we'll see if he develops into an nba project.

How would you guys feel about PP and IT for iman shumpart. We will get a very good core piece while shoring up our SG position for the next 10+ years. New York liked JR and hardaway and they need a PG with Felton out

Bradley Beal looks like he may be out for some weeks. If the Wiz are still trying for that playoff push, I wonder if they would have interest in Thornton.

IT is way too much for Shumpert alone. Is this board that clueless about his value?
This board? A few notes do not speak for the entire "board." As to the board, you aren't likely to find a more savvy group of posters to read. You just have to figure out who they are.

Hmm, what exactly do you think a guy on a contract a little over 800K can yield in a trade? What value can IT being back on that contract which this board is apparently clueless about?

You would package him with one your larger contract players to get a better player than Shumpert.

I asked Kings GM Pete D'Alessandro about Bill Simmons' comment about Kings being involved in every trade. "Right now, we're busy" #NBAKings
good to hear. i'd expect patterson to be moved next, considering that the acquisition of derrick williams' represents a bit of a redundancy. stretch 4's are all the rage in the contemporary nba, so hopefully the kings will be able to ship p-pat to someone desperate enough to believe they could more effectively utilize his skill set. bring on the picks/prospects/reclamation projects, i say...

Well, now you're getting more into the value of other players, not just IT.

So give me some examples. IT packaged with who will get us what, exactly?

Since this board was accused of being clueless about IT's value, I'd like to see this clear, apparent value he has which some are oblivious too.

IT paired with any of:
Salmons
Chuck
PP
Landry
Jimmer
Outlaw
MT
Vasquez

would get us a clearly better player than Shumpert? If the only example is going to a an IT/JT package, that isn't clear value that some are clueless too and has as much to do with JT's value vs the rest as it does IT's. But I'm interested in this value which some can't or don't see.

Exactly. Imagine what Jerry and Grant would have to talk about beginning their TV shows. Nada. :) IT would be the target of the trade but the trade partner would have to take Thornton, Hayes, etc. to make the salaries match.

I thought the 2013 draft for us was about shoring up SG.. But yeah man, IT is the best backup pg in the league and probably has one of the two-three biggest hearts in the lockerroom. I think there is a reason why the Knicks would rather have Luc than Shump who was rumored to be offered.

IT+Salmons would get you Jeff Green. All the value from the Kings in that trade comes from IT and the expiring. IT + Hayes probably gets you Jeff Green as well, and again, the value there almost all comes from IT.

No way can we give up IT now get rid of Vasquez if we are trading a PG.

You'll never get fair compensation for IT because of his contract. So it's simple really. You don't trade him. IT is easily the best bargain contract in the NBA currently. Not even close. So straight up deals aren't in question for him because we can't take back salary.
