By following Twitter, it certainly appears as though MSE security is making some decisions that are NOT going to be popular with the people still paying to put their butts in the seats at STA to support THEIR SACRAMENTO KINGS!

Earlier today, it was said that CrownDowntown would not be allowed to bring the large head cutouts of KJ, Burkle, Mastrov and Ranadive into SleepTrain. Now it appears Fireplug (former owner of the Kings fanboard BleacherMob) is being told he cannot bring in his sign that supports KJ and Carmichael Dave's PlayingToWin tour because it could be considered offensive to the current ownership.

Are you freaking kidding me? OFFENSIVE? You know what's truly offensive? Having to sit back as a Kings fan and listen to years of lies by the Maloofs, watching a good franchise driven to the brink of failure by some spoiled-brat owners who have no respect for any of us who have supported this team over the years.

You know what else is offensive? Seeing broken chairs in the arena and the parking lot, having to deal with restroom facilities that are not up to par, etc.

WeAreSacramento and this is our freaking team. It was before the Maloofs got here and it will be after they're gone. They won't ever show their faces at STA again because they know how badly they're treated us. We fight for our team and that's offensive? Excuse me?

from Twitter:

Dave Lack (Fireplug) ‏@DaveLack 1m

While we were waiting a fan wasnt allowed to bring in sign that was simply printed "#KJing" (Which seems a lot less offensive than mine) :)

Status updates from Twitter:

Dave Lack (Fireplug) ‏@DaveLack 14m

Was told the "current ownership doesn't want anything that reflects negatively on them or positively on possible future owners" on my sign..

Dave Lack (Fireplug) ‏@DaveLack 13m

I casually mentioned laughingly that the media and those sites hearing about that would be a heck of alot more negative press....

Dave Lack (Fireplug) ‏@DaveLack 13m

Someone went back to confer and finally I guess they decided one sign wouldn't be as bad as all the bad press and let us in with it.

Dave Lack (Fireplug) ‏@DaveLack 12m

Also the awesome guards were only doing their job and sympathized with us trying to save their jobs.

They are egomaniacs and can't accept the fact that they have failed in everything they've done. They would love nothing more than to see Sac lose our Kings.

I'm willing to bet some guards might look the other way..
They're definitely in a tough spot, though. I can sympathize.

In any case, good luck silencing the fans.

It appears some entrances are more lenient than others. I totally sympathize with the guys and gals just trying to do their jobs. It's going to be very interesting to see how many signs actually make it in.

What's offensive? I will bet money that it is more likely that Burkle, Mastrov, or Ranadive will show up at the game as opposed to any of the large Maloofs mob. Bastids!!! How dare they do that to my friend Fireplug, et. al.

BTW, anyone know a typewriter key combination that will make an "e" with an accent mark?

Those SOBs! I'd love to see 17,000 people all #KJing at once.

I hope the national media latches onto this.
Sam Amick follows the right folks on Twitter, as does Aaron Bruski. Since the New York Times apparently has had an article about the fervor of Kings fans and our refusal to roll over and play dead, I think it just might start to trend. Of course, the cameras in STA are, at least so far, remaining fixed on the court and not showing any crowd shots. I hope the fans at the game will start sending out tweetpics. You can't hide the truth.

Hm, I thought about bringing a sign saying something about KJ. I wonder what would happen if I hid it in another sign, and then brought it out during the game.

All this means is they are getting worried or are getting pressured by the potential Seattle group to try to pipe this stuff down because they themselves worried. This all wouldn't matter if they were 100% sure the sale was over and done with and all they had to do was wait for April to roll around.

This might well be brought up on News10 tonight. Nick Monacelli asked CrownDowntown to send pics of signs that were banned.

There were lots of signs and many had KJ on them. I was in there early - at 5- and no one was there. All seemed orderly. Unfortunately the Kings team did not cooperate making a dud of the second half. Lots of noise from CROWNDOWNTOWN and friends.

Saw a security person ask a fan to turn his sign around as the fan stood behind Grant & Jerry after the game. One side had a very nice supportive Kings message. The other side (which I only got a glimpse of) had some reference to the Pittsburgh Penguins. I'll let you figure it out.

Twitterpic showing CrownDowntown folks holding up letters that spell out "Here We Stay". That might be the way around security. People just bring random letters. :p
Honestly I'm surprised more people don't just walk into the arena with a blank posterboard and pens and write the "derogatory" sign of their choosing after getting past security and their ushers.

^^^^Do you have all the pictures you took available online yet?

You did a great job last time!!
(blushing) Thanks for that. Right now, I'm working on picking out photos to support my SacramentoPress.com writer and his upcoming article. But I'll post all the fan photos online, as I did last time. My daughter came home for Spring Break and the best present I could give her was a seat with mom in section 118 tonight. Talk about energy!

We've just got to do this again!

p.s. Here's a teaser.

Awesome! Just let us know when you end posting your pics like last time! Great work and keep it up.

I once dared my Uncle Dave to throw a crumpled piece of paper with the words "Long live the Kings!" on it at one of thee Maloofs' heads, but a security guard saw what we were doing and gave us the *david* Stern Glare.
