Grant hints of blockbuster trade - title edited

I'm thinking that new teams and players are coming into the fold. Which is going to make negotiating this thing dificult and timely. However nothing is going on other than signings which is making me think that the teams who want to move players are all working together.

However if this is not the quiet before the storm, than I will be very dissapointed.

Not that I would ever defend Napier but all of the trades/signing, etc... are ones that have been "rumored" to be completed during the last couple of weeks. The league has lawyers that review every one to make sure they are legit, etc... and this does take time. We still have the Chandler trade to NO for Brown and Smith to get through either tonight or tomorrow so there still may be alot of things hanging out there waiting to be approved. Go have dinner, drinks or whatever and if something happens it will happen.

ARTEST TRADED FOR MILES
A Swap of Malcontents
By Ray Blicker

SACRAMENTO -- In a stunning swap of chronic problem players, the Sacramento Kings have traded the ferocious defensive game of Ron Artest for the limitless potential of lanky Portland forward Darius Miles.

Artest, who last year seemed to have revived his career during a half season stint with the Kings, now moves on to a franchise that has had more than its share of difficult personalities over the years.

Miles, who averaged a career high 14.0 points per game last season, will now be playing for his 4th team since being the 3rd overall pick of the 2000 draft.

Kings general manager Geoff Petrie said simply "it was time", while lauding Miles' outstanding athleticism and improving jumpshot.

"If you are still reading this goof of a post you are even more desperate for NBA news than I am." said Petrie.

ROTFL!!:D

I'm reading this thread and "tomorrow" keeps getting written and into my head pops...

"Tomorrow
Tomorrow
I love ya
Tomorrow
You're always
A day away"

Really annoying..I hate waiting.

Great point. Not to defend Grant, but his biggest mistake might not be blowing it about the trade rumoe (this is a smoke = fire case at this point), his biggest error might be proclaiming that a 6 team trade could be resolved an announced within 24 hours. If the Kings resign Bonzi and stand pat, then blame Grant for being a rumor monger; however, let's chill for 48 hours and see what does go down.

That Ray Blicker is one hell of a writer.

Grant is weird, yesterday he stated the blockbuster trade now he doesnt know whats going on i think hes pretty much stating nothing will happen oh well it was fun while it lasted.

A thought i was thinking, this rumored 6 team deal. Why is Grant the only person with this info? I think if it were a real 6 team deal it would of seriously been leaked by now. Grant would not be the all knowing.

For some reason word has gotten around on other boards that Bonzi's agent told Napear that a six team deal was going down with Bonzi included and Napear simpy relayed it. Which is untrue.

I believe that when Grant announced that a 6 team deal would go down "tomorrow" he probably had a pretty good basis for that comment. However, as we all know, deals come and go by the minute and rather than predict that a deal will go down he probably should have just waited til it did go down because deals change all the time this time of year in the NBA.

It's not completely untrue. Grant said he had just gotten off the phoen with *someone* and that *someone* had been told by his agent he was going to be involved in a trade that could involve as many as 6 teams. The trade was rumored to involve Sac and Indiana as one of the teams. The assumption was that it was Bonzi he had spoken to.

So, the only part that isn't true is that we don't know for SURE that it was Bonzi. But, it was a definite possibility.

It's way too quiet. I think something big is going to happen in the next day or 2 because you really aren't hearing much right now. I think at minimum it will be this 6 team trade and it might go even higher.

It could be a six team trade. But I also wouldn't be suprised if it broke apart b/c not every team agrees, resulting in several smaller trades. I think a lot of teams are trying to get in this trade, if not they're waiting for the trade to go down before more moves are made.
