Grant hints of blockbuster trade - title edited

I'm back from PD. What did I find? A lot of them aren't real happy about the rumor of "Stiffleavy" coming to Indiana...

I think that pretty much covers it.

Well last year we heard about the Bobby/Tag for Bonzi deal on its own first, then it happend to be tagged on to a bigger multiteam trade. So I wouldn't be surprised if it happened here too. Tomorrow (today?) will be interesting, to say the least.
 
What if the major trade tomorrow was completely different than what we are thinking? Maloof said that changes would be made, and maybe Bonzi Wells WON'T be involved in the trade, and other Sacramento players could, maybe Brad Miller.

Also, I heard that Bonzi Wells' agent was going to make a statement tomorrow. Would he make a statement if his client was being traded? Maybe he is actually re-signing?
 
Okay, this isn't the Bonzi trade rumor thread. This is the 6-teams NOT necessarily the Kings at all trade rumor thread. :p

And, if Bonzi's agent is going to make the statement, it's most likely going to be that Bonzi has agreed to sign with the Kings. Agents don't announce trades.

This is the wierd part for me that makes me think the Kings need to be a part of something bigger than resigning Bonzi. Grant did not simply speculate that there was a 6 team trade rumor. He said that there would be a lot of interviews for tomorrow's show. This should imply more than Bonzi, his agent, Petrie, and the Maloofs to talk about resigning Bonzi. If Grant really is lining up interviews something is probably actually happening.

I was thinking that too, is it confirmed that his agent is having a press conference?
 
Sptsjunkie - It could also mean he's going to try to get someone on to talk about the meeting in Vegas and the potential for the arena deal to go forward.

It could also mean that Grant is HOPING something will happen.

Sorry, but "lots of interviews" is almost as vague as "something big" is going to happen.

Not that I've seen. There are so many rumors floating around that it's almost impossible to separate them, let alone track them down to a source. All I know is that almost all the Bonzi stuff has come from the one thing at draftexpress...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that in about 12 hours it won't be a mystery to any of us and we can get on with the serious stuff...like figuring out how to switch Etan Thomas for Kenny Thomas without anyone noticing.

Well IF the rumor is true and Dunlevey is going to Indy that prety well would put the whole Bonzi gosipmill to rest for a bit... just no one left to take him.

Actually it's all the same: huffing out exciting-sounding air to get people to listen to the show. Breaking down exact words doesn't matter: he came out with a rumor, and regardless of how good the rumor really is or is not, he's gonna puff it up and make it sound good/mysterious so that more people listen. There was a rumor. End of analyzable info. Rest is just speculation for amusement.

Just as a side note. They are up at the celebrity golf tournament in Tahoe and when they do their show from there they always have a ton of interviews throughout the show with various sports celebrities. I wouldn't put to much into it. Also, in the proposed trade between Indiana, GS and Atlanta who does Indiana give up to get Dunleavy??? It looks like they are trading no one and getting Dunleavy in return.......which may not even be an even trade :D.

He did not say that the Kings were a part of the the referenced larger deal, but did not say that they were not, either. I got the impression that the Bonzi thing was speculation and the other was pretty much a sure thing.

And yes, they are doing their celebrity golf event and they have LOTS of interviews every day with that. I am sure that is what he would be referring to about the interviews.

It was unclear about if Sacramento was involved in the larger trade but it was clear that Sacramento and Indiana were two teams inolved in a trade. Grant said that he was hearing about a rumored blockbuster deal involving as many as 6 teams. Then Mike asked are Sacramento and Indiana two of those teams?? Grant answered that is what he was hearing, and that he had just got off the phone with SOMEONE saying that his agent told him it was going down today.

Hmm, what player would be involved in a trade involving Sacramento, who Grant would have access readily to call? I know it's a mystery, I can't figure it out. :rolleyes:

Ok, today is the day when we are suppose to hear something big is going to happen. However, nothing as of yet. I'm starting to get a little impatient.
 
Relax people....they are sifting through all of the deals that were consummated during the "moratorium" and these are getting approved(the Swift/Gay for Battier trade just went through) so it will take time.

I dont want to add fuel to the fire but I was at Sac Airport last night to pick up a friend and I saw Kenny Thomas at the Airport sitting down. I really hope Kenny being at the Airport has something to do with this possible pending trade. I would be so ecstatic
