Goran Dragic

Since Lowry got injured and Dragic moved into the starting lineup, he's been showing everyone that he can run an offense with ease.

He reminds me of Nash. Runs circles around everybody, can hit that spot up 3 as well as knock down that pick and pop jumper ala Beno. Goran has the ability to break down defenses, which allows him to find open teammates at will.

Would love to have him start with Reke at the 1 and 2 and then have Thornton and Isaiah off the bench as the power punch.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Yes and Yes!

I liked him back when he was drafted just a few picks after of our second round picks (S. Singletary and P. Ewing Jr., Bah!) I liked the flashes he showed in PHX and am seeing even more with his enhanced opportunity. He is an UFA this summer. I would throw a big(ish) offer. How much does Houston was to invest in a back-up PG? He is a career 44%/37%/72% shooter. His 3pt % is down this year, but the other two percentages are up. And he is carrying a 2-1 asst/turn ratio this season. That isn't great, but he has been playing with mostly second unit players.

Dragic is a very good pg. He really got my interest when he filled in for Nash during the playoffs and did an excellent job. He's a tough-minded dude. I'd be surprised if he weren't on the Kings list of wantables.

How good of a defender is he? I haven't paid too much attention to that portion of his game. If he is a capable defender, then I say go for it.

So we would, for instance, be essentially getting back the good sized Slovenian PG able to play alongside Reke that we foolishly gave up less than a year ago?

Sigh.

What goes around, comes around. Sounds like a merry go round doesn't it? Just where the hell is the brass ring?

Except a younger version that due to the lack of experience is not as good a leader....yet! :D

I miss Beno :( Offense looked so much better and we ran very successful backcuts with Cousins and Beno every game.

I shall emphatically say that my last name isn't petrie, so I didn't pull that draft pick trade to get rid of beno.

However, I would say that dragic is younger, quicker, and a better long rang shooter.

If he's willing to sign here at a reasonable price, we should get him. Than we should trade Jimmer or Thomas, no way we can keep them all. I really like Dragic, I think he will be very very good in the next years. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be able to attract him.
