I, too, am becoming more and more fond of the SNG's. The number of idiots who play with absolutely no idea of what constitues a hand worth betting is much lower, for the most part. I am so sick of sitting down at what appears to be a "normal" table, folding a couple of crap hands, and then losing to some idiot who held onto his 3-5 unsuited, flopped a 2-A-K on the river, bet it like he was holding Big Slick (while I'm sitting with Pocket Aces), gets a 6 on the turn which he bets really heavy (so I'm pretty sure he's holding either K-K or K-A), and then sees the 4 on the river. I'm convinced he's holding two pair or K-K-K, both of which I can beat with my A-A-A (because what kind of doofus would bet 2K out of the gate on 3-5 unsuited), so I match his bets only to lose to a stupid low straight. He acts like it was the greatest hand ever played and I'm ready to wring his bleeping neck. You don't see that often in the SNGs, thank God.

My second pet peeve is folding a perfectly legitimate hand because of the "all-in" syndrome of some of these bozos who seem to think it's worth going all in for a pair of 6s. I'm not gonna risk 25K or more just to see if the idiot finally got a legitimate hand.

Thats all I play in sit n go as well sometimes bad beat jackoit

I have gotten to where I almost exclusively play sit n go's. I had a terrible run for several days where I couldn't catch a card if my life depended on it. However, the past 2 days I have played in 4 sit n go tourneys. I won 3 of them and placed 2nd in the 4th one.

I'm not as experienced as some other members of the board, but I tend to fold crap hands before the flop except occasionally when I'm on the button, the blinds are low, and several others have folded already. There tend to be more times when I see that I would have gotten suckered into betting a losing hand had I stayed in, than times when I would ended up with the best hand (for some reason it just felt wrong to say "the nuts" there).

If I'm in the small blind, and the blinds are small, I tend to call more often than I should with a bad hand. I guess I'm just looking for the perfect flop, and if I don't get it then I get out of there.

generally you would however depends on you. If you have lots of money no harm in calling or if lots of other players have folded then no harm in going in.

I was just asking as a general rule what most people do... My attitude is that I'll usually go in for the minimum just to see the flop. Most times that's the prevailing attitude of the other players anyway...

On the other hand, I like to occasionally fold for about six hands and then, regardless of what I actually have, go in big just to steal the blinds.

It depends on a few variables like what position I'm in, what exactly you mean by "crap hand", how many other people are in the pot with me, whether or not the table is full or short handed, and if it's a tourney or a ring game.

4h5h is crap hand, but if I'm in late position, I might consider calling to see what the flop brings. It's a tricky hand, because on one hand, you might make a flush, but if anyone else has a higher flush, you're going to lose a lot of money. Same thing if you see a flop of like...6-7-9. You may have an open ended straight draw, but if you see an 8 on the turn, you made your straight, but are you sure nobody has a ten? Pretty sick feeling putting a lot of money into the pot only to find you have the "sucker straight".

Long story short, I only recommend playing crap at a full table if you have the dicipline to lay down a big hand.

Can't remember if it was at 2003 WSOP or one of the WPT events and I don't remember who said it, but it was something like "Playing poker well is like seducing a really attractive woman. You've got to be persistent, you've got to be patient, and you've got to be a little lucky."
Something like that. If you've heard it, tell me if I got it wrong. It was a great quote.

Hmmm! I seem to remember that when I started I had to actually sit at a table, then click on the dealer to get chips. I may be remembering that incorrectly. My memory just isn't what it used to be.
