[Game] Game 69: Kings v. Wizards, 3/22/15 - 3:00 pdt/6:00 edt

I do not like the "Try to go to the free throw line less, makes us go slower" approach.

Maybe that's why I'm not a 1000+ win coach in the NBA.

I was going to mention that. Yet more asininity. So asinine it even has me making up new words to describe it.

I love paceball. Its no wonder they couldn't stomach Malone though. I mean, he played big guys, defended, drew fouls...ewwww!!!

One thing I didn't like about Malones offense what that is relied too much on free throws. When the calls went away, so did the Kings. You can't count on the refs to win you a ring. Getting to the line is good, having to get to the line to win is a crutch.

It didn't rely on getting to the line. Kevin Martin relies on getting to the line. Malone relied on hammering the ball inside, which WILL get you to the line. There is a difference. You hammer the ball inside with guys capable of doing it and the other team has a choice, foul you, or let you get a layup.

Come on, Brick. You don't always have to take the contrarian viewpoint. Why not just sit back and relax a bit and see what's going to happen? It's way too early to decide that George Karl isn't going to work out.

I am SO sick of the Kings' Facebook page posting every frigging dunk minutes after it happens.

It just blares to everyone that they don't give a crap about anything other than running and dunking.
It is a backhanded insult to every Kings fan who cares more about winning than their junkball Warriors-envy.

Nice to see the Kings come out and build on their lead in the 3rd quarter...at least for now. ;)

You could always unlike them. ;)

If you're reading insult into something as innocuous as posting vid clips of dunks, you may need to toughen your hide just a bit.

George Karl is showing signs of being an old washed up Nellie ball loser. How's that for contrarian? He's gotten out of the first round of the playoffs one time in the last 15 years. How's that for contrarian? He ruined Denver's roster because he has no ****ing idea how to play or respect a post player or halfcourt player. They tried to play it straight after he left, and found out that just like Nellie Karl had populated their roster with a bunch of system specific trash designed to get him to the first round with inflated stats. How's that for contrarian?

There was a George Karl I respected a long time ago. His teams were twitchy, prone to epic meltdowns, but they competed on both ends at least. This old paceballer isn't him.

Actually, FTs account for a lot less of Kev's points than they used to. He's back to hitting more long shots - probably to protect his aging frame.

How is it? Exactly what I would expect of you - no more and no less.

THIS is where Omri needs to be. Where he can be the hustle/energy/ocassional playmaking guy and the 4th-5th option on the floor. Not like he is most of the time with the second unit where he has to be the top scoring option

Don't blame Omri, don't blame DMC. That was just a "crap happens" kind of thing. ;)

Many calls were specifically designed to create contact. Creating contact is good, but only if you can score through that contact on a consistent basis. The fact was that the team was almost a zilch on getting easy baskets. I think they could have made much better use of double teams to get assists but completely iso based offense outside of Cousins doing it wasn't going to get this team anywhere in my opinion.

Well, small ball or not, the spacing has got to be looking good for Cuz right now. It's a nice change of pace (sorry, I know) to see a team not be able to afford to stack their whole defense on him. There is something going on here that can be figured into the future I think.

Seeing it once might be an accident. Seeing it twice means it's something they've worked on. I may be in the minority, but I'm definitely liking some of what I'm seeing.

You mean there are other offensive plays rather than throw the ball to DeMarcus or Rudy and stand around for 20 seconds?:eek:

So that was the third quarter, right? I'm not dreaming, right? VF21 is happy.

I LOVE THIS TEAM!
