I won't argue that they weren't interested, but they clearly weren't all that committed to him. I don't think it's a stretch to say that the Kings could have easily committed more to him both financially and in on court opportunities. I think the Kings either didn't see him as valuable as the Knicks or they wanted him at similar numbers but more years to grow him with their core and Mario wanted to flash this year and get paid.
If I'm in Divac's shoes I'm not offering a one-year contract to anybody. That's just a bus stop until something better comes along next year. The Kings need more of a longer term commitment for a young core.
