For youth options at 3.

Offer Mario a deal where the second year is only partially guaranteed. Wait and see if NY picks up option on Troy Williams.

Keep investments minimal.

Swing for Oubre or Porter next off season.

Sign no veterans beyond 1 & dones with minimal guarantee/team option next year.

Find a way to get Otto Porter Even if you have to take on Gortats contract Porter a perfect fit for this team.
No way we get him eating Gortat and offering meager assets,

If your lucky they may have some Mahinmi that we can eat.

Is why the band aid strategy is better, make a strong bid for Oubre first next year, make them make a choice.

I think you sign Hezonja for a reasonable amount and then see who progresses and what you need in 19.

It better be a single year. Think we are better off getting Chandler, then only taking Mario if he is ultra cheap and a single full year guarantee.

Go all in next year. Besides we have SG clutter that can makeshift and expires like Shump.

Let's not take on long term bad salary just yet, it's only one year to wait.

I think my new guy is Kyle Anderson. Fits with the roster like a glove now, adds tremendous size and length to the SF and Small-ball PF, he's a flat out awesome defender that doesn't get the recognition it deserves (like one of the better ones in the NBA for years now), he's a good playmaker on the wing, he's an excellent rebounder for a wing and is a good enough floor spacer to where you have to respect it. And he's just turning 25 so he fits the timeline. Pretty much the only thing Anderson doesn't do well is score and we should hopefully have plenty of those. I think he'd absolutely thrive with our core.

The Usage thing is kind of weird for me with him though. I don't know if he just never got a chance to break the offensive hierarchy with the Spurs for some reason, but I think there's a bunch of unused offensive talent that we can still unlock. Spurs aren't exactly in a great situation right now with the Kawhi and don't think they'd match a 12mil-13mil/season offer for him.

3 years at 8-10M is reasonable.

Why wouldn’t the Spurs match?

Why wouldn’t the Spurs match?
The Kawhi situation. If he stays on the supermax, Anderson becomes a commodity they can't afford at 12+mil. If they trade him, why would they pay a quality role player $12mil for a rebuilding situation?

Especially if we go a 3 or 4 year deal. Feel like the Spurs would have a hard time matching that commitment with how uncertain their future is.

If Kawhi stays they need him to compete and if he leaves they have more than enough money.
