Isn't this guy any good? Just saw on hoopshype.com that the sixers got him to be in their summer league roster. Shouldn't we have at least tried to include him in our summerleague roster as well just to see if he can make the roster? Did we even try to get this guy after the draft?

gp and staff are carefully finding players to evaluate. isnt dionte christmas a SG? we already have a glut of guards.. i think they are going to stock on centers and forwards in the summer league.. possibly with sergio evans, and some other guys playing guard spots

No surprise that he's with the Sixers, beings he went to Temple and all. Wouldn't have minded seeing him here in camp though.

Bring him in for what? I watched him at the pre-draft workout I attended. He's a pullup shooter with no court sense at all and seems totally lost once he gets inside the arc. He didn't fare well at all against Earl Clark or James Johnson, both of whom I was very impressed with. I was surprised when someone at one point said he'd go in the first round. I couldn't imagine why...

I wanted to like him, I really did. Just his last name had marketing possibilities and I was already thinking of a TDOS-type draft we could have - something like "presents for Christmas" or something similar.

But he just looked horrible, kind of like watching your favorite JV player scrimmage against the Varsity All-Stars. Just out of place...

I saw him play on TV a couple of times and hearing him being hyped by the anouncers, but I didn't see him do anything special but hit acouple of wide open jumpers.
There are plenty of guys like that around to fill out their summer league roster.

The OP mentioned wanting to bring him to the Kings, which is why it's been left here. As for the other stuff, it seems pointless to start moving threads that have pretty much run their course.

Lets look at it from another perspective. If you are Dionte Christmas who would you pick out of Sacramanto and Philadephia?!

Lets look at it this way. Christmas is a shooter who also happens to be a SG. He would look at our roster and see Martin, Garcia, and plenty of other SG options AND capable 3PT shooters.

I look at Philly and the first thing that pops out is lack of outside shooting. I know where his chances of making the team are greater and it certainly isn't in Sacramento.
