Did Robinson give up his #0 for Aaron Brooks???

yesterday im sure you guys noticed that his jersey had no name or number on it in the summer league game. now it may make sense. did he give up #0 so Aaron Brooks could have it? i just started watching the Aaron Brooks introduction press conference and he is holding up a Brook #0 jersey......

if true i hope he got compensated for it. especially considering brooks is only on a 2 year contract and prob wont be here as long as trob. also i heard it costs a lot to change your number later. i was wondering who would get the 0 since trob, johnson, and brooks all wore the number

good. 0 isn't a number. One of my pet peeves in sports. I've never been able to like a player with the 'number' 0. The only one that didn't bother me was Gilbert Arenas since he was Agent 0. Don't really know why, just don't like it.

Agreed.

0 is not a number and therefore should not even be allowed to be selected by an athlete at any level IMO. 00 (double zero even worse). Kinda dumb when most arena sports announcers call out "number zero (insert name of athlete)." They should just say announce "0" with no "#" set up - as a few accurately state. Anyway, I guess we can credit Mayan civilization for "inventing" true 0 (zero) since Spanish had no clue about it before conquest of the New World.

Ah, that explains it. Was thinking he must have hcanged his number, did not make the connection to Brooks.

First 0 is a great number. :p I mean, who cares if you're a #17 or a #21? Big whoop. Just another number. But a 0, that stands out. Personally I would be a #36,537.38, but 0 works too.

Secondly, that was cool of TRob, given that he has at least as much claim to this team as Brooks does, and neither guy was in the league last year.

Our decimal system could not exist without a 0. This is a true TDOS subject. As to TRob, it really helped me know who was who on my TV screen when he had no number. :) He will go down in history with the other King who has worn this number. If there has been more than one, I have forgotten.

OP is only Kings player in team history to wear zero (notice did not say #0) but three players have worn 00 - Tony Delk, Greg Ostertag, and Art Long (who?!).

Per both players tweets:
Robinson is keeping #0. Brooks is not wearing #0 and is still undecided which number. Brooks says the number was for photo shoot only.

Already selfishness on display, lol. Just wait until everyone realizes there's one ball. "I'll trade you my jersey number for three more passes next game."

j/k, kind of.

Most definitions of the natural numbers include zero; certainly zero is a numeral at any rate. I hardly see how a dispute over esoteric aspects of counting applies to what symbols can and cannot be put on a uniform.

Also, although the Mayans independently developed the zero, the introduction of the zero to Europe came through the Middle East and India, and mathematicians had been using it for 300 years before the discovery of the new world.

I know, that's why I said the "Spanish" had no clue :) I love TDOS - not really! Why not also allow letters instead of numbers on unis or alternative Roman numerals...

Well, there's really no fundamental reason not to allow letters, or punctuation, or whatnot, outside of the possible trouble of figuring out hand signals for the refs to indicate a non-number. It's just a group of symbols. The further afield from the group, the more jarring the inclusion of the symbol ought to be. As for me, I find [0, 1, 2, 3, 4...] to be a more "fundamental set" than [1, 2, 3, 4...] so the use of "0" doesn't bother me. "00", on the other hand, is a bit jarring. "-1" would be outright weird and I'd consider whining about it. "?" would almost certainly cause me to lodge a protest.

Maybe that should be Prof. Factorial. ;)

Kinda hard to use a compass without any knowledge of zero.
