I thought that NJ was getting a steal with that trade - and I couldn't be happier the way it is turning out. :D
 
Pedja looked old tonight. Scored 2 points in th 2nd half. Fortunate for Hornets - he is a role player and they can win without him.
 
Difference being that Pedja's team won the series and Atlanta won't. The way he played tonight - he should retire but in the first 4 games - he was good. Bibby should retire. He played one good quarter out of 16

Hah,Peja sucked through the entire game and then his free throws brought them victory.:D
What is interesting to me is how much confidence Paul has in Peja,for eg. in the 1st quarter after he missed 3 straight shots,Paul gave him a pass from whole different side of the court and Peja scored 3 pointer.Also,interesting is that he didn't took so many 3 point shots,he was trying to go inside and score but couldn't do that.
Anyway,NOH starting lineup looked very good last night.Dallas played something only when NOH bench was on the court.Of course,Paul is MVP!
Hornets will have tough series against Spurs now.I can already tell Peja is going to have problems with Bowen and Finley,we'll see how West and Chandler are going to guard Duncan...Also,I hope Horry misses all clutch shots:D
 
I think this first round loss now seals the Mavs' fate as being similar to the early 2000 Kings. They had their opportunities to become champions, but either they didn't take advantage of those opportunities or certain things just didn't go their way, and now the Mavs seem not to have anywhere to go but down.

The back to back playoff collpases against the Heat and the Warriors really did them in. Just broke them mentally. Its similar to what happened to us after the '02 Lakers series and then losing Webb in '03. But even worse for the Mavs as they didn't have injuries to fall back on. They just flat didn't get it done, and once that doubt/expectation of doom creeps in, its pretty much over for you as an elite team.

Phoenix is facing something similar now. Nash looked very old this last series, and after getting smacked down by the Spurs again and again in their attempts to get over the hump, its getting hard to see now how they will really believe in themselves enough to make a real run at it again.

Phoenix will be really interesting. It seemed that, for the first three years with Nash, they were having fun, playing hard, scoring at will. But their whole team and identity was based around a fun style of basketball. They didn't seem like they had quite as much fun this season as they did the last three, and I would imagine that being put out by the same time for the fourth time in a row, in the first round, no less, would really put a damper on that fun. I don't know if that would be enough to see them through an entire season and into the playoffs without some major changes to their roster.
