So, combining some rumors from today's Bee article and adding some more ideas of my own, how about this blockbuster Sacramento/Knicks deal:
Bibby
Artest
Miller
KT
for
Marbury
David Lee
Crawford
Rose
1st Round Pick
New Kings:
PG: Beno/Douby/Marbury (possibly bought out)
SG: Martin/Crawford
SF: Salmons/Garcia
PF: Lee/Williams/SAR
C: Moore/Hawes/Williams
New Knicks:
PG: Bibby/Robinson
SG: Richardson/Jones
SF: Artest/Balkman
PF: Randolph/Curry/KT
C: Miller/Curry
Why for the Knicks: they get rid of three of their major problem areas: Marbury no longer caring, no permiter defense, and the lack of chemistry between Randolph and Curry. Miller is the perfect complement to both of them since he can play in the high post while they're down low. They would be vastly improved in the short term.
Why for the Kings: we take a no-doubt-about-it talent hit in the short term, but clear Brad's salary a year early, giving us $26 million in expiring contracts after next season. And Lee solves the rebounding problem if not the shotblocking problem. Plus what is probably a decent 1st round pick. I have always liked Crawford and think he can be the perfect spark plug off the bench -- his contract lasts a season longer than KT's, but he's by far the better value. Kings go into next offseason with (hopefully) about $13 million in cap room to go after a star PF/C or PG.
