Why is he third in line? And if he is when will it be known if he's second?VF21 said:And if even Kevin Garnett, who was a phenom straight out of high school, didn't start then why would the Kings start Garcia?
Sorry, but Garcia is THIRD in line for the 2-guard spot.
Rowdyone said:Since we are now overloaded with swingmen (Bonzi, Martin, Garcia) and that position as well as SF is the easiest to fill in the NBA how about we trade Martin or Garcia to Golden State who need outside shooting/swingmen for one of there PF's like Diogu or Taft? Each is a gamble but each has a great upside and we wouldn't be giving up much of our current teams makeup to get them.

I'm not quite sure why the Hornets would WANT to trade Magloire, but there's sure a lot of noise out there about a potential deal.
I have to believe the Kings could offer a more atttractive package than, say, the Raptors, who want Magloire because he's Canadian.
If the Kings could get Magloire without giving up K. Thomas, they'd have a nice three-man rotation at PF/C with Thomas, Miller and Magloire -- plus, I'd hope, Songaila.
All that being said, I'd wager a nickel that they somehow end up with Walker.

I like Diogu, but the Kings would have to pony up a lot more than Martin or Garcia, and I don't think he solves enough of the team's problems at PF to make that kind of deal.
As for the Bobcats, there's a reason they need players. It's deliberate. They are building their team exactly the way I would if I had an expansion team. They doing it through the draft and taking kids who have been winners on the college level. They've conserved their cap space and aren't blowing it on guys who aren't difference makers. It's true that they are still handicapped by the expansion rules, but they still have a ton of cash to throw around if they wanted to. I think they've been smart not to.
The last thing they would consider would be to ship off one of their cornerstones in Okafor, in exchange for aging and undersized PFs with bad contracts. It just isn't going to happen.
I'm not a big Sean May fan, but I understand the pick. Bickerstaff feels he and Okafor can play together for now, and my guess is that they hope May will eventually become a valuable sub. Thus when they get ahold of a true center, it will give them a solid frontcourt rotation.

What do you think about Malik Allen? The kings wouldn't have to do a S&T for him and his going price could be pretty low. I don't remember his stats but they didn't seem to shabby and his bio looked like he could be a good fit.
He isn't a big name and you barely see his name mentioned. I think I have only seen one or two teams mentioned that are looking at him.
Westones3 said:Rasheed Wallace! Yeah, he is about as untouchable as it comes in respect to a trade or anything. But am I the only one who thinks that is the type of player the Kings would want?
I have been an avid reader of these boards for some time now. To my surprise I have never even heard anyone fantisize about this option. He can hit the outside 3 with regularity, he is an awsome defender/shot blocker, and has a versitle post game.
Anyway, sorry my first post on these boards was on such a tangent. Its just something I have been pondering for some time.
King4Life said:Is there an expected price range for getting Jamaal Magloire? Is he $8 million, $10 million, or $12 million per year player? It would be great if we could get him without giving up Peja, Miller, and Bibby. He would give the Kings much needed size in the paint.
VF21 said:What makes you think Portland would waive Theo Ratliff? And yes, he has been discussed several times in both this thread and the trade thread...
Thanks for shooting down my proposal before I could even post it, VF.VF21 said:We aren't going to get him for two bags of chips and a open jar of salsa.

Rowdyone said:Has anyone seen any good PF prospects in the summer leagues? If not we may have to resign ourselves to a PF by committee aproach depending on the matchups we encounter. I said earlier this summer that I wouldn't be at all surprised if our re-loading program might take 2 or more years to return to our '02 level. Hope GP proves me wrong.
Rowdyone said:Just noticed that Charlotte needs players badly...perhaps a 2 or 3 (the Philly crew) for 1 plus draft choices would pry Okafor away from them since they have a taleted rookie to fit in there in Sean May.
