Yeeeeeah... I'm putting my money on nuclear holocaust...BawLa said:Why we don't: Are you kidding? Artest + Wallace = nuclear holocaust...or really badass defense.
No Butcher said the teams were going to keep talking.
The article today by Chris Sheridan on ESPN only talks about the Lakers and Bulls talking and working out details. Nothing is mentioned about the Kings anymore, so I think we're pretty much out of it.
if Artest goes to Chicago then Deng can go to LA without Bryant vetoing it
Artest has been our trade piece in most rumors. But the rumors have him going to LA. LA really wants Luol Deng though, whom the Bulls will trade for Kobe, but if Kobe gets traded for Deng, he vetoes the trade because he wants to play with Deng. If Deng goes to LA and Artest goes to Chicago, Kobe probably won't veto the trade because even though he won't have Deng, he'll have Artest. Please explain a little further...I think I know where you are going with this, but not sure.
It would put Kobe and Artest on the same team like they have said they always wanted. Would Chicago's FO be willing to risk team chemistry for two said head-cases? Who would Chicago be willing to send our way and to LA.

i did the trade machine on espn:That's where I thought you were going...and nice thinking I might add. I wonder who Chicago would give-up? Personally, I would love to get Noah for Artest. Maybe Chicago sends Gordon and/or Wallace to LA in addition to Deng?
Hinrich, Kobe and Artest in the same line-up would be pretty impressive.
Almost missed it the first time around, there's something wrong with Bibby and Fisher being teammates. It cringes my nerve.

2. If Chicago wouldn't give up Deng for Bryant straight up, why would they give him up to take Bryant and Kenny F. Thomas?
BawLa. You do know that Bulls are trying to move forward not backward?
Why would they want Brad Miller and Ron Artest back? They had Artest and Miller on the team 5 years ago.
Paxson just announced that there will be no deal.
This morning on 1140, they said Kobe wouldn't go to Chicago (veto) if Deng wasn't going to be there. He wants to play with Deng. (They did not state their source, or I didn't catch it.)I thought Chicago didn't want to give up Deng?
Sheridan has an article on ESPN.com that basically states this. This morning on 1140, they said Kobe wouldn't go to Chicago (veto) if Deng wasn't going to be there. He wants to play with Deng. (They did not state their source, or I didn't catch it.)
I find this whole Kobe thing beyond ridiculous at a certain point.
1) trade me because you are losers and went back on your word! By the way trade that kid we hae at center. He sucks too. In fact all my teammates suck.
2) what!!? You dared to say you would actually trade me! I'm not showing up to practice.
3) And you can only trade me to the teams I want to go to. Namely two.
4) And you can also only trade me to one of those two teams in a deal I approve, where they get to keep all their best players.
At the point that Kobe gets them down over that barrel again, the Lakers should just say **** you at some point and send down word form the front office that he gets to be Sasha Vukacic's 10min/gm backup for the next two years until he either cracks and gets reasonable or just decides to do something stupid and lets them suspend him withotu pay.

I am guessing since Kobe is abusing or over-using his power, no player will get a "no trade" option in their contract ever again. One reporter on ESPN was talking about how a GM said that nobody in the league besides David Stern holds the power that Kobe holds.
You can't blame Kobe for his contract. This is ALL on Mitch Kupcheck and Dr Bus. THEY agreed to his ridicouls demands. Hell if Kobe had wanted a Unicorn they would have had every vet in So Cal trying to Xenograft a horn on some poor pony. Now Kobe is just excercising the power THEY gave him.
