Big Trade Rumor

They are saying now Bibby instead of Artest.

VF21... Might as well move this until it gets more solid :)

Bibby would make it really unwieldy since a big contract would have to come to the Kings from the Lakers (like Radman) or otherwise Chicago would have to decimate their roster to make the trade happen.

I think this is the beginning of the end of this rumor.

There is nothing concrete here, and just rumours from one city's AM radio station. And Bibby? You kidding me. How do you move a guy whos out for 6 weeks this season and is on a downturn in his pro career? For Kobe and a promising guy like Gordon and Hinrich? Dreams.

Going on 15 minutes of consecutive commercials.

I've totally forgotten about the trade, now I'm just curious if there really is a show and not just ads 24/7.

Or maybe they started a bad rumor and are playing commercials now to get people to forget about it :)

Funny thing was I turned it down to do something else for a second, then missed their top of the hour re-cap of the rumor. Now it's football talk.

Oh well... now I know where to buy an engagement ring or find topless waitresses in Chicago.

Or where to find the best gay strippers

I think that's what I heard o.O

ESPN is reporting the rumor...

Kings get PJ Brown and Ben Gordon for Artest

Ben Wallace and Artest to the Lakers.

As an aside -- PJ Brown is retired, although maybe he would be ok bneing part of a sing and trade just to let us waive him so he could collect one last paycheck for nothing.

And Ben Gordon -- good lord Geoff if that was the deal. Another shooter?

That was four pages that summarized the Kings offseason. Rumors/Hope/Disgust/Apathy/Failure. Nothing we shouldn't expect.

Ok, with gametime an hour and a half away, and some rumors that te rumor is dead etc., likely as good a time to move it as always. I don't actually believe anything like this is 100% dead until is actually traded, but let it simmer over in Personnel unless something gets imminent.

They could've done a 1 year S&T sending PJ to us.

BTW why the hell would Geoff want Gordon? He should've asked for a big man like Thomas or Noah. I DON'T WANT GORDON, no more midget chucker guards please.

ESPN reporting that the trade is officially dead. I saw it at work, and there was no volume. But they reported that the trade officially fell through.

Because I don't think we'd get the best deal possible. They can spare Crittenton, who would be their 4th PG after Hinrich, Fisher, Farmar, but I think our leverage would be limited.

I think you're overrating Artest's trade value. A pin drop can make a trade of this magnitude fall apart, if the lakers don't want to give up Crittenton this deal is not happening.

i dont want thomas.. after what he pulled during the dunk contest where he was sayin how we was in it for the money or w/e.. i dont like his attitude, i'd rather snag hinrich or gordon.. even if we have kmart at the 2

I'm confused -- are you saying that Crittenton is more valuable than Farmar? I would think they value Farmar more since he's ahead of him in the rotation.

But maybe it's Crittenton -- he definitely looked good in summer league.
