Artest to Minnesota?!

Whoa... Think of the #7, and #10 lol.. We could get Noah, and Yi... Think of putting those two 7 footers on the floor at the same time, with Garcia, Martin, and Bibby.

Holy cow..

Run and Guuuuuun!!! Haha!

Make it happen Geoff!

Yeah I have to say that if the Kings can move Artest and nab a #7 pick you just have eat bad paper to do it. Sure in the perfect world you take an ender but McHale is not THAT stupid.

If Yi or B. Wright is there and Conley is there, you have to take Yi or Wright. Conley...we'll have to see. But big > little. Especially when the little isn't a sure thing and there are a whole batch of better littles coming down the pipe next year. Very few drafts, if ever, that you get Yi or B. Wright caliber PF prospects slipping out of the top 5. You get a year like that, you have to cash in.

Yeah, I have to agree with that one. Even though I think Conley will be a better player than Yi, the opportunity to grab one or two quality bigs in the draft is too good to pass up. At 8 and 9 Charlotte and Chicago don't really need a PG so I would take my chances on Conley falling to the 10th pick. It would be nice to have Bibby's replacement take over right away though. Guess it depends on how you value the upside of Conley relative to Yi or Wright. If Conley is Chris Paul and Yi/Wright are Drew Gooden, you'd probably be better off with Conley in the long run. That's the fun part about the draft, there's no way to know. :)

Ron Artest is worth more than just the #7 pick!!! C'mon, get real!

Fans are fickle, all of the sudden RonRon is a second rate castoff to be peddled off for whatever we can get??? ...Last year was a disaster but RonRon can still be part of something special....I don't fully understand this fire sale mentality??? Fans are obviously frustrated with the off the court B.S. but Artest has always approached games in a professional way....AND you don't rebuild your team by discounting the value of your players and dumping them when their value is at all time low --- if we could get the #7 pick AND Ricky Davis too, and a #2 round pick; maybe even a future #1 pick, that's more like it...then we can draft Yi and Wright!

Having two HIGH picks is definitely something to get excited about in this draft, but why is everyone excited about Noah??? He reminds me of Christian Laetner...in fact Christian Laetner had more talent coming into the league and didn't exactly have a stellar NBA career....Geoff Petrie can do better than drafting the next Christian Laetner.

While you are correct that Ron is worth more than a number 7 pick, the reality is that tallent wise ANY trade of Artest will not bring back like tallent.

The reasons to trade Ron have nothing to do with his ON COURT performace last season. The resons for trading Ron in general are his off court antics and how they distract the team and can destroy team chemesty. The opertunity to shed his contract. Create roster space for young talllent to develop and to help the Coach Guy build a team from ground up.

The reson to spesificaly trade him for picks and enders is to to also try o get young potnetial allent that MIGHT be develop into a top player and clear cap space for next years FA market.

I can't stand Noah either, and I would throw a fit if we drafted him...

But I can't think of two more dissimilar big men than Noah and Laettner. They aren't even remotely similar.

Artest is disruptive in a good way...on the court...

He's the best all-around player in the league IMO..

His combination of offense/defense and inside/outside game is rivaled by NOONE.

There's nothing he doesn't do well on the court.

What's up Ron?

I didn't know you posted on here.

Considering this is Petrie we are talking about, I have to look forward to absolutely nothing happening, just like his ho-hum press conferences.

Brick since Atlanta IS under the cap we might not have to take back all that crap. Maybe just Claxton, Wright and the #11 after all they are wanting a PG very bad and they have the #3 pick as well so they get the #3 pick and Bibby in 1 offseason and they lose nothing.

Kinda on but, yet off the subject. Am I the only one that would look foward to Garcia starting at the 3 next season. Assuming he plays around same way he did at the end of the season.

Well...Laetner and Noah are similar in they both had great college careers, and maximized their skills during the NCAA tournament....as far as I am concerned it will be the pinacle moment for both of them...AND you have to be concerned about a guy who was not a consistent scoring threat at the college level....that translates into about 3 point scoring average in the pros.

But I wouldn't be concerned we will draft him, Petrie knows better.
