Artest: "It's not that I don't want to play there . . .

Amen. Isn't this the same Peja that requested a trade, oh, not so long ago??? You've just got me riled up!
If you think about it now though, Peja requesting the trade when he did was at the best time he could probably do it. His value was sky high *as opposed to now) and he came out and said that Kings could get somebody good/better in return and that it is for the best of the team.

Back then those comments got people mad, but looking back at them now they made alot of sense. IF we only pulled off Peja for Marion trade we wouldn't have to deal with this Artest nut now!!

Agree totally, JJ22L.

And in their zeal to be the FIRST to report this whole thing as it unfolded, the media didn't bother to check facts...

One other thing? I firmly believe players should ALL have their jaws wired shut. It would save so many problems. Artest may or may not have said the wrong thing. IMHO Peja made a BIG mistake in talking to the media this evening. His "disrespected" comment can only lead to further problems. After all, the pot shouldn't call the kettle black...

Lord, what a mess.

Why is that big mistake? What problems?....his days in sac are numbered anyway and he has no any ethical (moral) obligations to maloofs whatsoever......

IMHO, which means in my humble opinion in case you didn't know, Peja made a big mistake in talking to the media. Everything is totally up in the air at this point and there's no way to foresee what will happen. He might end up being traded in the next few days; he might end up being traded on Feb. 23. He might end up staying the rest of the season and then opting out.

Players who start talking out against their organizations do not do themselves or anyone else any favors. It never ends well.

Peja would have been better served to have kept his feelings to himself. Just my opinion, based on a long-term observation of what happens to players in the spotlight ...

Sure it's a big mistake if the trade is revoked. What is amazing is that this was the first time as a King that Pedja actualy spoke up, directly and openly instead in a passive-aggressive whine.

while You are absolutely correct - it is not that easy when You have such a day and someone puts a microphone in front of Your mouth.
His agent should be shot BTW

I agree. People don't like it when players make the same old banal, canned remarks, but then they get upset when a player says something that is probably honest feeling. Can't win. Anybody who has never said something without thinking about how it might sound or how it might be interpreted is not human. I often thank god that no one cares enough about anything I say to record every comment I make.:p

I'd hate that too, but for about $7 million a year I could learn to live with it.;)

but, you're right, it's hard to win when you talk to the media, especially because things get twisted, etc. I don't, however, understand why Peja didn't just stay in his hotel room tonight. Then he wouldn't have been put on the spot, and wouldn't have ended up saying things that just make the situation even worse.

so i have a question? how upset are we gonna be if the maloofs sign artest? i know that i dont want this nut job, and if we get him i see a MAJOR rollercoaster ride, and not a fun one :(

honestly, I don't know. I didn't want Artest, and don't really want him. But keeping Peja isn't much of an option at this point either. This is a big mess!

What can we do? I'll still support the team. Even if I resume my strike!

Maybe this could turn out alright. I don't know. We'll see what happens.

GO KINGS!!! With Ron Artest or without him!

Apparently when the trade was stopped, instead of flying back to Sac, Pedja had to return to the arena to join the team for the flight to NY. Reporters were waiting, of course.

got it! I didn't think about the plane flight. I was just thinking if I was him the last thing I'd want to do is be in public.

I bet the "100 bottles of beer on the wall" song didn't get past 99... And that was most likely the HIGH point of the trip.

Brad needs to call Ronnie and talk to him tell him about Oak Park, and that he can be gansta in Oak Park and then Ron will come.
Well, if oak park doesnt suit him, there's always Meadowview, G Parkway and DPH
