I don't hate this. It's a long shot but at least Aldrich has a chance to be the type of big we need. Unfortunately Patterson is another undersized four, but a upgrade because he is at least a proven role player. Long term I think you'll have to settle on either JT or Patterson in a rotation along with the shot blocker/defender that we obviously need. Weird that such a high pick is getting traded with the team about to be sold though.

I know Aldrich has been underachieving but he never really got a chance to play. No one ever gave him minutes. He is almost seven foot tall, has girth, plays physical and blocks shot. He could end up like Rafael Araujo but at this point we simply don't know how good he is. But the thing is that, Aldrich doesn't need to learn new skill to play his position.

He could be crap but at least give him a chance to prove he is crap.

If Smarts wants Patterson and Houston is willing to throw in Aldrich, why not?

I don't like the deal, this is me keeping my sanity ..

Patrick Patterson's shooting percentage is .519 ... highest on the team. He also shoots .365 from 3, pretty good for a big.

Per 36 he is a 16PPG, 6RB guy with a good FG% ... He could be a better player than Jason Thompson. He certainly has better numbers and is more dynamic, but I'll have to really watch him before I make that conclusion.

Patterson is a solid player. T-Rob definitely has more upside, but not a lopsided trade by any means.

It just feels worse because of the wasted year/draft pick notion in losing T-Rob.

But, in the end...cash is king for the magoofs while they're here.

I think I'm done with the Kings after this trade. At least until a new ownership is in. I'd rather watch the team in Seattle instead of put up with the ****ing Maloofs any longer. Unbelievable trade, I can't believe the NBA is allowing it.

hey guys, our team is terrible at rebounding, what should we do? lets trade our Rookie PF who has proven he can pull down rebounds at a incredible rate for a PF who rebounds at 6rpg per 36 mins. WTF

Also - This is me being stupid, but IF (and we will never be able to prove this) BUT IF Patterson can help Cousins be the guy we need him to be, on and off the court, then, well, it's good to see we are investing everything, even a top 5 pick, into Cousins development.

That $30 Million they got two weeks wasn't good enough? I'm just trying to add it up. If I'm Hansen and I have a signed deal with the Maloofs and they are trading away team assets for personal money, I would be livid.

This is not the mistake, the real mistake is in drafting Thomas Robinson. This trade is merely to correct a mistake that was made... And also for the Maloofs to pocket some money.

Is there anyway we can trade DMC for cash to someone? Because that would be the only move the Maloofs would want. Gets them money and destroys the team.

Idiots. Of course he's better than Trob. He's been in the league for 3 years.

Whats sad is that this team has been making moves for a few years now with the short term in mind, with the idea of winning now, and they have failed so hard at that.

So you trade him for some soft 6'9" PF who rebounds at a rate of 6.6 rebounds/36? You seem to belive in Alrdich, but he hasn't shown squat since entering the league.

Part of me wishes they would try. Spite Sac, pee off Seattle ownership so they back out, and end up taking 50 cents on the dollar for their team from Sacramento. Do it Maloofs!
