Andris Biedrins on trade block by Warriors

I have liked Biedrins game all along. Runs floor well, good offense and defense (I said good, not great), aggressive, good personality but has 4 yr and $36M left on contract. Kenny Thomas ($8.5M expiring) + first round pick would do it (I think). I wouldn't want to get rid of anyone else. But would Nelly want to get rid of his starting 5 for salary dump and lottery pick? Betcha he would!!!:p

I love Biedrins game and he's still very young. The contact doesn't seem out of line given his production. Only concern is that he is an undersized center. Not really an intimidator, but still a decent defender of the basket. A great rebounder. Seems like he would be a perfect 3rd big, but doesn't necessarily solve our problem if Hawes or Thompson don't pan out in the long run.

I want our pick!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ok trading for Biedrins and maybe a future pick. but not this year!! I am a little worried with his ft's....since Kings all of a sudden cant make any. but I like his game.

I am not sure I'd want it to be our first rounder this year but, definatley next year. Maybe they would settle on top 10 protected for this year?

Could we swing Troy Murphy their way? Nellie would love to have him as their starting center.

If Biedrins is healthy I'd like to trade Martin for him.
So Nellie is happy with another guard, maybe K-Mart will be his starting PF... Ahahah

Interesting thought. Of course that's whaere he started, and the Warriors dumped him as quick as they could.

I am assuming Cruz saw this the same place I did, and it should be noted that they were still talking about Randolph being available too (obviously not for the last 30 games). Which brings up again my dream scenario of both those guys coming over in a package somehow. If they are looking to shed salary, we probably could not satisfy them alone. But maybe with a third team.

Still wonder too about Nellie's interst in Martin for his run n gun, especially if they decided that Monta had to go to make room for Curry.

Do you believe Ellis and Evans would make an awesome back court? It sounds good, but I want a more informed opinion, because I don't follow the Warriors at all, basically.

I do like Biedrins too, but wouldnt trade out pick for him. I'd strongly consider a Kenny Thomas/ JT swap though.

No to JT. We need to add to our front line. Not addition by subtraction. If you want to trade JT then get me a deal that brings back Okafor or Amare or Bosh. But I'm not going to give up our cap space for next offseason and one of our bigs as well.

I've always liked Biedrins. And its rare to find a center with that much experience thats also young. Money wise it would be a straight swap of KT for Biedrins. Since they make almost the exact same salary. I'd be willing to throw in a future first round pick, but not our pick for this year. Now if they were willing to throw Randolph into the deal then i'd be willing to throw Hawes into the deal. Its hard to say just what the hell Nellie would want. Yeah, I know he's not the GM, but trust me, he's running the show.

Biedrins would be a good addition but Okafor would be better, plus we could get okafor without giving up the first round pick

Really??? so New Orleans has said they would take KT for Okafor straight up? I must have missed that.

My contention is expiring KT + unprotected first rounder (next year?) for Biedrins now. That gives Nelly a $12M reduction in cap space this summer. Then Kings have much more solid core. Armstrong and likely Udoka disappear this summer and Kings go with what they have and shoot for playoffs next year and level higher year after. Another rookie 1st rounder this summer is too many kids IMHO. Time to get experience.

You would really rather give up a 1st rounder next year than JT? The way I see it is were going to add a big this year in the draft. Sure, we could win the lottery and draft Wall, maybe get the 2nd or third pick and get Turner .. there is also Wes Johnson, but other than that there isnt much in terms of swingmen. Plus the log jam at that position... I dont think drafting a SF or SG would be smart, and only draft a PG if its Wall.

If we bring in Biedrins and keep Hawes and Thompson .. then draft a big man than your talking about another logjam type situation. I want our top 10 pick playing, a lot.

If we trade for Biedrins, and draft a player like Cousins or Favors, then we still have Hawes. Our big man rotation could finally be a positive for us rather than a negative. In fact our team as a whole would look a whole lot better.

Im hesitent to trade future picks... you never know what might happen.

Yeah, I don't like trading future first rounders unless there's a near certainty they'll be at the end of the first round.

As much as Hawes and JT frustrate me, you don't get rid of one of them without getting a MAJOR upgrade. Adding Biedrins to those 2 would give us an OK frontcourt. Adding the 2010 1st pick(hopefully a big) would allow the young guy to develop at a more reasonable pace than we've been expecting from Hawes and Thompson.

I think our current frontcourt guys would have benefited from having to fight for their minutes.
