Thats what I meant... if he got to play more consistently on another team, he would be better. Word is that during laker practices, Adam can play. I mean for anyone to go through a season ending injury a few games into his 2nd season? .. and then never find minutes again, its hard to play well.
Unfortunately this thread is turning into the usual make fun of Morrison thread.

43 at Michigan State

35 vs Xavier in the NCAAs.
34 at Memphis
34 at Santa Clara
He cried when he lost to UCLA, but he averaged 28 points while shooting 50% from the field (43% from 3 point range). He was off to a decent start with Charlotte, getting big points on several occasions, but faltered. Then he missed a year and then sat with the Lakers. I disagree on the "non athlete" status, though he obviously hasn't lived up to being the #3 pick overall. Are we certain he couldn't come in and go on a Peja-like or Kyle Korver shooting spree to help on occasion?

Adam needs a team thats tanking and has a very bad roster at SF so he can get mins. Unfortunately for him we have 2 good young SFs. Its hard to shoot well when you are looking over to the bench every 5 secs thinking will a missed shot get me booted from the game.

Disagree. I think he needs to be on a team with guys that demand double teams and can kick out to him. The Kings don't have a consistent shooter who can bury shots and warrant Tyreke passing the ball a lil more. I love Garcia but he's not a consistent shooter. I don't think dante was last year and Caspi has a slow release set shot. I dunno, he's not gonna make the All Star team, but the Kings need a shooter IMO.

All three guys you're complaining about there shot at least several percentage points higher than Morrison has at any time in his pro career and have more dimensions to their games to boot.

I don't think you can place much emphasis on Morrison's laker stats. Also, he was a focal point of a team's defense against Charlotte as a rookie.
It's not about him playing all around basketball. There is no doubt in my mind he can outshoot anyone on the Kings and that is THE ONLY reason for signing him.
Moot point since they won't sign him - but to dismiss him as a non talent is wrong.

While Okafor and Wallace are legendary shooters, they did not garner much attention. In fact Wallace's awful Sacramento touch is what led to team's taking him for granted and allowing him to find a driving game (steroid induced or otherwise). Okafor was a stiff. Morrison's had over 20 a few times early as a Bobcat. He obviously wasn't used to being guarded by NBA type athletes. He can shoot. A tiny bit.

I was born in Spokane Washington so I LOVE Adam Morrison!! he was a beast at Gonzaga and had a good rookie season. He tore his acl and that was a huge blow, then being traded hurt is confidence. but playing on a championship team behind Lamar, Ariza and Artest who are proven players doesn't help his playing time. I think he is def worth the low risk/high reward vet min.

no on /sp/ the sports section. you would be suprised by all the kings fans on there though.
If we needed depth at small forward, I'd be all for Adam Morrison. Contrary to popular opinion, he's not horrible. He's Kyle Korver, to be honest. He just hasn't had the opportunity to develop as an NBA player. He got his rookie season, didn't do great, but wasn't on his way out of the NBA either. He's played less than 1,000 minutes the last two years. I think it's incredibly unfair to say that he can't play.
Last time we did that, it was with Darko. He didn't play in four seasons, and then got a little burn and turned into a slightly serviceable big man. Not setting the world on fire or anything, but he's not absolutely horrible.

If we needed a shooting small forward to come off the bench for 15-18 minutes a game, I'd be okay having Adam Morrison. I know all about his limitations: he can't play defense, he can't rebound, he can't create, he's only a shooter (and hasn't done that well in the NBA). But for depth at small forward, he'd be fine.
All I'm saying is that we can't say that just because he hasn't lived up to expectations that he has absolutely no place in the NBA.
