I know some people get excited about national tv games. I get it that it provides broader visibility to the players and the team. But I much prefer watching our local broadcast of a game.
Same. I no longer care about the national thing, because they all typically don’t know a single thing and are incredibly biased.

I had to use google to refresh my memory on how long for an ankle sprain.
"A basketball player with a sprained ankle might be out for a few days to a few months, depending on the severity of the injury."

Let's hope he's not out a few months.
He was walking gingerly when he went off the court, but he was walking...I would not expect the diagnosis of a severe sprain.

Rocket fans crashing out as if they’ve been screwed out of the playoffs or something lol no one is fixing a game for the Kings.
When you have no respect for your opponent and then you lose, it is a very difficult L to swallow. We have had many of those games, hell, we felt like we hit rock bottom when we lost to Detroit not long enough ago.

The Rockets are number 2 in the uber competitive West and rightly could see fit to look down on us and thus the shock of losing to us come fast and furious.

Hall of Famer
You really think that's possible? I started taking magnesium and vitamin D last month, and it has noticeably improved my overall health.
My tinfoil hat pet theory based on my experience living in the PNW for the past decade where everyone simultaneously gets Seasonal affect disorder between roughly late November through early spring + a pattern of Fox's game and attitude tanking during the dreary months, while starting and ending the season strong and cheerful!

The Doug video is so good he’s already turning into more of a coach being buried looking at paper instead of distracted by reporters. But loved his answer about defense and different schemes he’s throwing out there - not an exact quote but him saying “it doesn’t go exactly as planned every time but they’re trusting each other enough to make it work when it matters” means so much. He’s a true player’s coach and Deebo doing film to show his grit when he played reflects that. Managing people is hard but it’s clear Doug has a special talent for it and we’re lucky to have him back - couldn’t imagine anyone better suited to bring Sacramento back to some renewed glory days

Barkley has been fairly consistent throughout his broadcast career about being harder on players when coaches get fired. He has always felt that coaches get a disproportionate amount of the blame when teams underperform.
True.

But in this case he needs to face the reality that the KINGS have been night and day different under Doug Christie beyond just a couple games. It's up to 10 games now, 9 if you choose not to count the first game since he'd never run a single practice yet.

If this keeps up, at some point the sample size has to be enough to acknowledge that the coaching change has not only be impactful, but the correct move too.

Guys like Barkley can like and appreciate Mike Brown all they want, but the results under him this season and even last season were drastically different. And the only major change was the head coach. There's no getting around that.

That said, if things eventually flat line (with no major injuries), then and only then is Barkley's take valid.

Udoka blaming the refs with "soft as* calls" at the end.
"It's hard to win 5-on-8." Because the league is trying to fix games for (checks notes)... the Sacramento Kings?
Wait wait wait... does the script say "the league is against the Kings and thus Fox never gets call" or "the league is fixing games for the Kings"?
Rocket fans crashing out as if they’ve been screwed out of the playoffs or something lol no one is fixing a game for the Kings.

Isn't it refreshing for the other team and their fans to be complaining about officiating?

Even if they are right --- I couldn't give a rip! As often as the KINGS have been the victim of poor officiating and bogus 2-minute reports over the years, I'll gladly accept some instances in our favor. I mean, we do have the ultimate trump card over pretty much every other franchise with being cheated out of a Finals appearance (and likely championship).

So there's that.

No sympathy or apology from this fan.

Yeah, I don't have a problem with Barkley's opinion in general. I'm on record as saying Mike Brown is still head coach if the players hit their open shots.

However, the head coach has a position of authority. With that, he sets the tone and culture. If the players don't get along with or respect their authority figure, as human beings it will affect their morale and effectiveness. No amount of money or fame takes away your natural responses as a human.

Look at the players body language. From day one, it appears that a weight was lifted off their shoulders. This was on Mike Brown the leader. Not Mike Brown the man or Mike Brown the basketball mind.

If not for Monk's injury last season, i really believe we'd be talking about a third straight post season birth this year.
^^ This is actually an excellent point and something I admit had slipped my mind. I recall saying late last season that Monk’s absence really hurt the team. I think you saw it again against Milwaukee the other night.

That said, it still doesn’t change the slow starts in all 3 seasons of Brown’s tenure, his refusal to sit Huerter in favor of Keon, and the teams defense not being at a level expected from a supposed defensive guru coach.
