Well I would hope almost anybody we drafted at #4 would be much more likely to turn out way better than Douby, drafted in the bottom third. GP has way more hits in the first round than misses, yet we're all focusing on Douby, his biggest miss.

I don't think the comparison of Westbrook and Holiday is a very good one other than they both played the same position at UCLA. Their athletic ability may be close, but they're two entirely different kinds of players. Westbrook was very comfortable at the shoot guard position, despite not being a very good shooter. It appeared a natural position for him, at least in college. Not so in the NBA where his height becomes more of a liability. Holiday never looked comfortable at the shooting guard position where he was asked to become more of a scorer and a slasher. He's a guy that was used to playing the point and having the ball in his hands. Its a shame we never got to see him do that.
As for a player that was terrible in college that ended up being very good. I don't exactly have one right now. But Kevin Johnson is a player that turned out to be much better than people expected because of the system he was forced to play in college. Most people had Kenny Smith rated higher than Kevin. Smith turned out OK, but was never, at least in my mind a great point guard. He does have a ring though and Kevin doesn't..

If you discount the part about them both being tweeners who failed to show that they could play PG in college, yes.

I also questions Holiday's leadership, he seems too quiet and passive to me. This might have been due to the fact that Collison was the leader at UCLA and Holiday decided to stay quiet, but he didnt show any natural leadership or emotion. This is one reason I like Rubio or Flynn because both would make good leaders.

It's not like he was 2nd fiddle in all his minutes on the court. There were several times he was controlling the ball, when Collison was out and when he was in. He just never did show the explosiveness that you'd want from a guard, regardless of whether he was a point or not. I think Holiday might be a case where he matured early, got a lot of hype in high school, and then maxed out physically. It is very puzzling to me that Petrie would have him in here two times, unless he's trying to con some GMs who do happen to like Holiday.

I back Baja on this one. While I'm not a Holiday fan, I do think it's unfair to say he didn't show he could not play PG in college. He was simply in a system where he was not allowed to do so, because another first round pick who is also a senior was already there. Douby was a scorer first and foremost in college. He was a pure combo guard and nothing else. Holiday us a true PG. Now he may or may not be a good one, but I don't doubt that's his natural position.

I think some people are just closed minded that Geoff maybe reviewing Holiday for a possible 23rd pick. That I believe is still possible if somehow Thabeet may fall to us at #4. Holiday can develop while playing backup to Beno on his first year. He is a good defensive player and would be a good compliment backing up our less defensive starting PG, Udrih. I can live with a lineup of
PG - Beno/Holiday
SG - Martin/Garcia
SF - Nocioni/Greene
PF - Thompson/
C - Hawes/Thabeet
I'm just adding a possible scenario to calm down the sudden unfriendly heat on Jrue. If you swap Greene and Nocioni, we would actually have pretty decent 2nd unit with Holiday, Garcia, Nocioni, and Thabeet.
PG - Beno/Holiday

Yeah, your right about that. Bad luck I guess.. Funny part is that I don't think Collison really helped himself by staying in college another year. I mean as far as draft status.

I doubt he falls that far, but it is possible that Petrie would trade the 23 and 31 to try to move up into the teens. Or that he might try to acquire a pick from someone in the teens like the Pistons. I just have a hard time believing that Holiday is worth the 4th pick in the draft.

No Rubio, i want Jrue Holiday or Johnny Flynn.
I think I'd rather have Tyreke Evans at PG even if Rubio is available. I can just see us with Rubio bouncing bullet passes off of JT's noggin til one or the other gets totally frustrated or hurt. Evans is a big PG that can get to the basket seemingly at will, draw fouls, post up smaller guards, play D and run with the best of them. Not sure Rubio can do all of those things now or in the future.

I would rather have Jennings then both of those two. I just see Jennings being a star in this league. And if want excitement Jennings is the way to go. I would be happy with Evans and Rubio, but 4 is WAY to high for Holiday.

We're going to get a good idea of how these guys match against each other on Friday's group workout. Can't wait! Hope they give a lot of footage of this workout.

i think this friday is the workout to determine who the kings select #4... they wanted a coach in place by this friday, to get his input on the kings future point guard...
i think that with westphal as coach, johnny flynn may have an upper hand in the pg race.... if he performs well, i think that flynn is the closest pg to the one that westphal did great with as coach... kevin johnson....
flynn is a small, quick and tough pg, much like kj was.... if he performs well at the friday workout, i think flynn will get the nod at #4
