I think the reach argument has merit if you could have traded down for that player and gotten something else out of it. I think pick value should be respected, but yeah, if there's no guarantee you can get them trading down or you're not going to get much of anything in the trade, then there's no point in passing on the player you think is best.

Actually, I really like Muscala as well. In fact, I think he belongs in the 1st round and will end up there. A lot of underrated late 1st/2nd rounders in this draft.

DX claimed they got extensive feedback about prospects value in Chicago and updated mock showed some movement:
1. Adams jumped from #25 to #16. He's lottery bound for sure.
2. Shroeder got a bit closer to lottery and is slotted for Bucks #15. Feels like #14 for Jazz or #15 for Bucks will be his final destination.
3. Jamaal Franklin got moved up a few spots to #19 that belongs to Cavs. With their love for advanced stats, it might be a move to specific place, not just moving up in value.
4. Top7 stayed the same. Interesting they believe in Bennett going top-3, which I don't think is likely.

Yeah, I'm surprised about Bennett as well. I think his individual workouts will determine where he's drafted. Personally I think he'll be asked to switch to the SF position, which is think is very possible for him. He's a very good athlete, and he already has a good jumpshot. If Corlis can switch to SF, then certainly Bennett can. I agree on Adams being lottery bound. It wouldn't surprise me to see him go all the way to the 10 spot.

It needs to be pointed out that DX does not take into account team needs in their "mock draft" before the lottery, just pretend the team logos aren't there and just go by the numbers.

Hey, if he can play PF successfully in the NBA, then more power to him. But at 6'7" he's definitely undersized for the position. However, he wouldn't be the first 6'7" PF to play in the NBA and be successful. However, I don't agree that he becomes average if he moves to the SF position. He's an above average athlete with a jumpshot that has range out to the 3pt line. He's good at putting the ball on the floor and taking it to the basket. To be honest, he has a lot of SF skills already in his bag. He's an explosive leaper. I think in time he could be one of the best SF's in the NBA. I honestly don't know if he could ever be one of the best PF's in the NBA.

Personally, I would rather the Kings draft someone else and not have to worry about what position to play him at. I really hope that we end up with either Porter or Olipedo.

I watched the NBA channel yesterday and they talked about Schroeder. One guy said he had the highest BBIQ in the draft. Another guy said he was a prima donna. They all seemed to think he could play, and that if Porter was thought highly enough for #3, then so should Schroeder.

I'm kind of getting scared of Noel now. He's 6'11 and lighter than Tyreke. I thought he'd clock in at least at 220. But there's no question: Any NBA player would push him around like a baby in the bost. He might get blocked shots-not arguing that-but Spencer Hawes is a top 15 shotblocker. Try and tell me with a straight face that Spencer Hawes is a good defender.

At this point, our number one draft target should be Otto Porter.

Has anybody seen Gobert play? Has a 7'9" reach. They said that was the greatest reach in the 20 years they've been doing the measurement. Looks like he can walk and chew gum at the same time. Pretty good intermediate shooter. And from what I've read on the net has made some major impact defensively. If Kings traded down, could be interesting.

I'm starting to like Gobert now that we've discovered that Noel is lighter than most guards. He's got tolerable weight (238 pounds), monster wingspan, nice athleticism, and an offensive game with a lot of potential. He can reach the hoop by standing on his tip toes! If we could trade down with Utah, and get their 14th and 21st selections. We can grab Gobert at 14, and Bullock at 21. In the second round, we can nab Nate Wolters. That would be an A+ draft to me.

Well to begin with, I don't want to draft him. However, he's as good an athlete as Leonard or James Johnson, and both those guys guard SF's. I think you underestimating his athleticism. That, along with his skill set is what sets him apart from other players. I don't think there are many SF's in the league that could guard him. But hey, hopefully we don't draft him and we won't have to worry about it.

Not sure about the comparison between Schroeder and Porter. Two different positions, so I'm not sure what they were implying. One thing is for sure though, Schroeder will automaticly be one of the quickest players in the NBA the minute he's drafted.

The last player that was 7'2" and had a 7'9" reach was someone named Wilt. I haven't seen him play, but I've read plenty about him and watched a ton of available film of him. Thats all I can base my opinion on at this time. To me he appears to have tremendous potential as a defensive specialist. Offensively he appears very raw, and its obvious when you look at him that he's in serious need of muscle. But he's very young, and he could be a gamble that pays dividends down the road. Gilles and DimeDropper may have actually seen him play. I did watch more european BB this year than ever before, but it was hardly enough to pass judgement. I still have some game recorded that I haven't watched.

I'd be OK with him because he brings the skillset we need, and you can't teach size. But he's seriously weak right now, and that's going to seriously hamper his ability to get on the court until he address it. That's my worry with him. But if you believe he can overcome that and reach his potential, then it'd be silly to pass on him depending on who else is available.

I wouldn't say seriously weak, but he is definitely skinny and needs to bulk up. At this point he looks better than Noel, because if Gobert is weak, then Noel will look like Dorra the Explora at a Legion of Doom meeting in the NBA.

His center of gravity is very high, though, even for someone his size, so it'll be interesting to see if he can make up for that. Yeah, I was going to comment on his high center of gravity. I think thats his biggest problem at his current strength. He does have a big frame though, and one would think he'd be able to put on another 20 to 30 pounds. Hell, he's so tall he doesn't even have to jump to block shots.

Anyone else still interested in Shabazz? Sorry if I missed posts above, but if Kings draft where they are/drop, I really think he's going to be an Andre Drummond kind of pick (was really hyped, underperformed in the year, and draft stock dropped). But I think like Drummond, he'll pan out.

If we somehow landed Oladipo I'd have to hide my excitement, but it would be there. Nervous excitement.

In some messed up alternate universe I don't want to be a part of, The Kings essentially chose IT over Evans and draft Oladipo. The worst part is, I think far to many Kings fans will be ok with it. IT has a strong fan base. It's isn't as strong here, but it is there.

IT at the point and Oladipo at the two DOES make sense if you think IT is as good as IT thinks he is. People will fall for that and be ok with us losing Evans because of how likable Oladipo is.

I like Oladipo a lot, and so should everyone. I just don't know if he'd ever be able to play with Evans, and that is obviously a big problem. I don't want to see the team move in this direction, but if Oladipo's name is called on draft night, Evans could be on the way out.
