Supervillain Draft Thread - Team write-ups and post draft rankings

I am really suprised that he is still here, but it worked out well for me.

Sauron - The Dark Lord of Mordor

Sauron the Dark Lord has tried on many occasions to take over the lands of Middle Earth, sometimes he succeeds, sometimes he fails, but he never gives up. Thousands of years old, he has experienced numerous battles and killed countless enemies. After losing the "One Ring", he suffered through hundreds of years without a body. Thats how powerful he is! Even without a physical form, he survived, plotting.
In the early years Sauron gave his allegiance to Morgoth, and served him without question. It is this aspect that has created room on Team EndGame for Sauron, with the guidance of Thanos and the ability to fight side by side with SuperBoy Prime, we are UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!!!!

No, seriously, we are.

Well, took a few hits in the third round before the draft reached me again...but in the interim, my scouts readjusted Team MBF's draft board and our BBA should work out nicely..

MBF selects....

T-1000 - Terminator 2

You know, you can never have enough cold calculating liquidfied assassins on your team. Especially those whose appendages can morph into deadly weapons thanks to that pesky mimetic metal alloy...VERY economical and green! But what makes T-1000 so decidedly perfect in a battle against other baddies and those dastardly goodies is his..er, its ability to shapeshift and mimic things and people...like say, other baddies or goodies...oh, my that could suck if my team were to infiltrate your team huh? Good luck blasting him with your hahahahahah "weapons", when he..er it regenerates (as in indestructible-like regeneration) and continues coming for you. Eh yeaaaaaaaaaaah, good luck with that strategy...

ps...yes, that would be my eh..boy walking through fire...

Sauron and T1000? Damn you all. Passed on Sauron because I wasn't sure how Voldy and Sauron would mix, but I was back to thinking of taking him next.

T1000 is a neat pick. Was on my board for sure.

I just thought Jerryaki would want to know where the demographics stand:).
FYI - I think the point some people wanted to make was that it's not considered quite kosher to point out trends or philosophies of the draft while it's ongoing since you could inadvertently tip someone's strategy. It would be akin to me pointing out in round 3 of the Classic Ride draft, for example, that no superhero cars had yet been taken.

:)

Fantastic pick!

So, not enough women, huh? Luckily, I was already planning on grabbing one of my favorite femme fatales with this pick:

Maleficent - Sleeping Beauty (1959) -- It's not made entirely clear the scope of this dark fairy's powers, but it's pretty well established that she's scary. Upon cursing the infant princess to death by spindle (over a missing invitation!), the general consensus is to hide. Not to scream at her. Not to beat her up. Not to undo her magic. None of that. Just sit there scared and silent, let her finish damning your baby, and then hide for 16 years. That's all you can do. I think that translates to the medieval/Disney/fairy tale version of "Oh snap!"

What we do know: She's powerful, she's scary, she's got minions, she's got fantastic fashion sense, she's hot for a green chick, she's got seemingly limitless powers of magic, and she can call upon the powers of hell to turn into probably anything, but at the very least a huge dragon that breathes super cool green fire.

Yeah. We good.

You know...I did find her a tad bit frightening back in the day...well, not back in her day, but back in the days of my childhood...which I'll have you know were no where near her days....just saying...

Bricklayer

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
Its a good thing that I don't scare off easy, because MBF trampled all over what should have been virgin ground with my next pick with her drab little T-1000 pick. And some of you decided that now, today, two picks before mine was a time to start yap yapping about villanesses. Basically, you guys all suck. I mean, everybody has to have a basher. And they're all big, and ugly, and oooh scaaarry! Hell some of them even have back hair. Who the hell wants back hair on their island? No, THIS is how a basher should look:

Bricklayer's Nefarious Island -- Where Evil Meets Pretty Girls

Oops! I meant:

Terminator T-X (The Terminatrix)

I pondered the T-1000 for this pick (it would have been taken as it turns out) -- its all liquid metal morphing was neato. But my T-X (from Terminator 3) is the next generation -- liquid metal poured over a solid endoskeleton (which means she can imitate any humanoid), and unlike Mr. Goopy the T-1000, she has built in onboard weapons systems, including a laser, a flamethrower, a saw and a drill. She's powered by a plasma reactor. She has teeth harder than diamonds, her thighs can compress with the power of a hydraulic press, she can see into the infrared, she has built in DNA and retinal scanning equipment to make sure of her targets, and she has a demonstrated ability to inflate her breastsize as necessary. Er...ok, maybe the last one isn't truly a combat skill, but I think its a nifty feature nonetheless. Best of all -- she's a machine, and thus can be counted on to follow orders strictly (I don't go in for any of this rebellious/insane stuff on MY island). In fact all I have to do is introduce a little program I call concubine.exe and life on my island is truly looking up. :D

For my next pick I'm going to draft a single zombie. You all have watched enough movies to know what happens when there is one zombie around.

Zombie - Dawn of the Dead

Since this was originally a super hero/villian draft I'll stick with that theme. Even the Marvel Comics universe is not safe. Where even Galactus is devoured and now the zombies have cosmic powers. They were last seen traveling through the universe potentially invading the main Marvel timeline to create some type of zombie/hero war.

No hero or villain is safe, no matter the armor or power.

Clover

The monster made his first full appearance in Cloverfield, where he was seen rampaging through New York City and being attacked by the United States military, before finally being killed by a massive airstrike that destroys all of Manhattan. However during the credits a voice can be heard saying "help us" but if reversed it sounds saying "it's still alive" implying that the monster is alive.
In the same field with the likes of Godzilla, this guy is big. 30 stories tall, weighs around 6,400 tons, and has a thick hide that resists every attack the military attempts. At the end of the movie, Manhattan is destroyed in an attempt to kill it.

He comes with friends:
Clover is covered with parasites, which it sheds as part of a 'post-birth ritual'. Abrams described the parasites as "horrifying, dog-sized creatures that just scatter around the city and add to the nightmare of the evening". Reeves added that "The parasites have a voracious, rabid, bounding nature, but they also have a crab-like crawl. They have the viciousness of a dog, but with the ability to climb walls and stick to objects".The parasites fall off Clover and begin to attack people. The parasite's jaw is unique in that the top half of the head is the mandible, moving up from the lower jaw to open, as opposed to the reverse with almost all terrestrial animals. The top and lower jaws end in serrated edges and also have four pairs of eyes each. The rest of the parasite is comprised of a crustacean-like carapace, several pairs of claws, and arms. A deep blue-purple muscular membrane stretches between the top and lower jaws. When a human is bitten, the victim becomes ill and bleeds profusely, mainly from the eyes, and shortly after this the torso expands and explodes. They are called HSPs (Human Scale Parasites)

More details on our Intimidator:
Clover's design includes appendages on his underbelly, described by Neville Page as an "elongated, and articulated external esophagus with the business end terminating in teethlike fingers". They were designed as a body part to relate the scale of human prey to the huge scale of the creature. The scenes from the film where Clover sucked people into these feeding tubes were cut from the final edit, but the fourth and final chapter of Cloverfield/Kishin shows how they work.

Mystique

Mystique is a mutant shapeshifter with the ability to psionically shift the formation of her biological cells at will to change her appearance and thereby assume the form of other humans. She can also alter her voice to duplicate exactly that of another person.
In 2001's X-Men Forever miniseries, in which Mystique was exposed to dangerous levels of radiation in order to save the life of Toad. The process morphed Mystique's appearance to match her more reptilian physique from the 2000's film trilogy, and boosted her powers so that she could now morph her body into taking certain desired physical traits depending on her situation at the time. Examples of this new ability include night vision, wings on her back, talons in her fingers, and natural body armor. She can even compress nearly two-dimensional like a sheet of paper to glide on air currents, similar to Mister Fantastic, which she uses to survive an explosion. She has moved her vital organs out of place in order to survive a gunshot to her torso. She has, once with strain, given herself two heads and four arms to facilitate a gun fight on two fronts, as well as shapshifted into herself as a child.
Damage to her biological tissue is known to heal at a relatively fast rate and she can form a resistance to poisons upon contracting them. Recently she has stated that her body mass is not fixed and can change when she does. While she retained her advanced powers, she now appears in her old form without scales. Her powers grant her immunity to diseases, agelessness and enhanced agility.
Mystique is a cunning strategist in terrorist and commando operations, and adept at martial arts and information technology. She has a talent for finding, stealing and understanding cutting edge weaponry. She is a talented actress. She has some natural resistance to telepathic intrusion and wears devices to prevent her mind from being read by telepathy.
