Supervillain Draft Thread - Team write-ups and post draft rankings

Ares, god of war - Mythology

Not some slash em' up videogame character, this is the real deal. Master of strategy and has the usual god like attributes (super human, immortality, etc).

I hope who I originally wanted to post makes it back but I needed more power on the roster.

Bricklayer

Don't Make Me Use The Bat

Q

Okay, well, I sort of lied about not tolerating any insubordination on my island -- hey, I'm evil ok? Turns out I have sort of an insubordination exception clause, that exception being when I decide to add a little omnipotence to the team. Q lacks the malevolent edge I would prefer from my baddies, but oh does he have the power, to do virtually anything from all appearances. Travel instantly across the universe, throw people or objects instantly across the universe, travel in time and see into different timstreams, create his own realities, survive in any environment (in fact the environment appears to have no effect on him whatsoever and he may only be as material as he chooses to be)...pretty much the omnipotence package (although he's apparently got some equally omnipotent friends which means none of them are truly omnipotent). In any case, this is a pure raw power grab. He lacks the nasty edge I would want out of a team leader, but that's why I have Doctor Doom around to provide the Muhahahaha!!! for my crew. Q is just my facilitator (to go along with my team leader, my torturer, and my muscle/concubine), and if I have to put up with the occasional impish teleportation of my island across the universe to meet a race of alien monsters, so be it. I will just tell Q in no uncertain terms that I am most displeased and that if he does not return my island to its proper home immediately he will risk facing my evil glare.

You folks were up to some serious villainy last night...I like it. The Mystique picks hurts a bit, but I already have my shape shifting bugs. Q was also on my original short list. Nice work:).

Will try to make this quick, since I'm up in both drafts...

While I was bound and determined not to return to the Gotham villainy mine for this thing, after Mystique was cruelly stolen from me, this next pick, originally set aside as a Catwoman backup, became easily my favorite of the alternates I had left. So, at the risk of redundancy, my next villain is:

Harley Quinn - DC Comics (1992-Present) -- Dr. Harleen Quinzel, driven insane by former patient and occasional boyfriend, a little guy named Joker, puts the fun in absolutely, out of her mind, bat**** crazy. Following the trend set by the rest of my Gotham baddies, Harley doesn't have very many special powers aside from the fairly standard superhuman strength and agility and an immunity to all toxins, but she's dangerously psychotic and not afraid to do a little dirty work.

Oh, yeah, and though I don't want this to turn into a repeat of last summer's hot babe draft... she's a talented gymnast. :D

I have a difficult choice here as I have two baddies of equally enticing badittude staring at me on my draft list but I can only take one knowing the other is oooh so likely not to get back to me. I'm slowly falling in love with peeps lower on my list so that may make this choice easier.

MBF selects...

Darth Maul - Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace

Doesn't that face just OOOOZE evil? Sure, he had a little run in with Obi Wan Kenobi that went poorly. But hey... stuff happens. Everybody has a bad day every once in a while. But it's the stuff that happens before that, like when he was a consciousless killing machine, that makes him a prize pick here according to my scouts. Well, that, and the fact that he may have been re-constituted with crazy parts that make him even more formidable.. :squeal :):

My team needs more role players, those unsung players who are willing to do the dirty work that their coach (or evil masters) wants them to do you know?...(and who are consciousless killing machines or be "creatures of pure evil"). He's the ultimate team player: just do what you're told and go consciouslessly kill people and destroy things.

He's crafty and cunning. He, like T-1000, will be a good infiltrator and my team may just very well eat other teams from the inside out - um, no pun intended for Lecter who may literally do just that. He comes with his own stealthy ride which gets good galactic gas mileage. Pretty good with his hands building his own double-bladed lightsaber and killing people with them. Um, both the hands and the lightsaber.

George Lucas Screw Up #3201: Establishing a cool/evil villain devilish enough to kill a Jedi, and then immediately bumping him off.

I'm digging how this draft has evolved. Pretty much exactly how I'd hoped it would be with every pick being an "Oh Cool" or "Why didn't I think of that" moment.

And Ms. Harleen Quinzel is my second favorite villainesse of all-time, she just wasn't going to fit with my theme so I'm glad she got her moment to shine.

Why aren't people posting these cool videos for thier picks?

For my Fourth Selection:

Imhotep - The Mummy

This would be the mummy from the 1999 Mummy, l not the old Boris Karloff one. Ability to raise a skeleton army at will, survived numerous near death experiences, I will turn this guy loose on the Superheroes and they will cower before his armies!!!!

His vast armies...

They will cower before his armies, and his vast armies?

Imhotep Carey: My army's so big, it has its own army. And even my army's army is bigger than your army...

Okay... I will stick with the Villainess theme... though, if you called this selection a villainess, she would melt you on the spot... Also, Apocalyspe is really looking for a woman of his caliber... Palpatine approved it and the negotiations we oddly short... We select: Gozer AKA Gozer the Traveller AKA Gozer the Destroyer AKA Gozer the Gozarian from Ghostbusters

[yt=Gozer Ya'll]6u3vwajQ-FY[/yt]

So, why Gozer you ask? Well, let me tell you, Gozer can take any form and create whatever kind of destroyers Gozer chooses, like this:
[yt=Sta Puft]X_loG8AQKtY[/yt]

In fact, Gozer could create an army of them or whatever she wants... she brings about death and destruction wherever she goes. What are you gonna do when Gozer and Apocalyspe show up with Palpatine controlling them? I mean, besides die and get shot in the face by Boba Fett?

Let's let Louis explain it:

Not to pick a nit (and, not that I want to admit enough knowledge of the Mummy franchise to even be able to), but I believe that's a picture of the terra cotta army that the Jet Li mummy raises. Has nothing to do with Imhotep. Imhotep's army was a bunch of rotting Anubis looking dog thingies.

Please, continue with the nerding.

It was only in my mind because it would be pretty funny. But after the character is already in the forums, it is pretty much ruined. Gah, it is so long in between picks for me.:(

As Diablo and his shadow-dwelling hellspawn wreak havoc across the land, my next recruit will be in charge of reigning terror from the skies.

Anyone who managed to give a generation of children nightmares with less than five minutes of face time deserves a spot on my roster of evil.

Chernabog - Disney's Fantasia

To recap why this dude is considered one of, if not the, most powerful, terrifying and purely evil villains in Disney's Rogue gallery (besides the hardcore theme music): He wakes up, gets a good stretch, then immediately summons all manners of spirits and ghosts from the town below, forces them to dance for his amusement before tossing them into a fire turning them into his own demonic minions with the intent of attacking the very town from which they came.

Really, that's just cold. And just my style :D Especially considering with him on my side, my army's ranks will continually be stockpiled with fresh recruits.

My team welcomes the "Black God of Evil and Death"; your locker's right next to Alma's ... I'm sure you two will get along.

Very nice pick. I considered him for a while, actually, but ultimately wasn't sure I wanted to go with a baddie whose weakness appears to be dawn. Limits his usefulness.

In any case, noce to see someone else take advantage of the Disney canon. Their heroes are wimpy, but there's some good villain there.
