You sure? He didn't play at PG much because of Baron, but I thought he's shown some solid PG skills.

ditto, also this guy is out of high school so i think his potential and yi are of equal value being yi is from china and ellis is out of hs both really unknown until 4-5 years, ellis and #18 thats sounds pretty tempting but i don't know if ellis mix with kmart, just something about the two i can't see them jelling, just me!

Yi instantly and without a second thought. Big trumps little. 7 footer trumps tweener guard.

Yeah sure, give me Desagna Diop over Gilbert Arenas ANYDAY.

If the Warriors like a 1st round pick BEWARE..they're only good in the 2nd round. Warriors are gaga over Yi, YI BE WARNED.

I think I would take Ellis and the #18. Use that #18 to draft a big if available and turn Mike Bibby into some type of large commodity.

I would take Ellis in a second!!!!
:D I agree 100% and I'd shove Kenny THomas down their throars for Saruanas & POB in the deal. They're DESPERATE for Yi, but thankfully he won't be there at 10.

Bottom line, the Kings need young big men, not SG's or SF's.

Bottom line, the Kings need desireable talented players...in doing so we improve and increase trading flexibility in the future. Filling a need with a lesser player is just retarded especially when you're committed to move vet players like we currently are.

Bottom line, if by some miracle Yi is there at 10, Kings will pick him and will not be trading him away to anyone!

Kings are high on him and I can't see them trading his rights if he is there at 10 which is very unlikely.

Yes because Ellis is Arenas obviously.

This really just comes down to what you think of Yi. If I said who would you rather have, KG or Ellis, and somebody said Ellis, they'd be an idiot. If I said who would you rather have, Van Horn or Ellis, Ellis should win easily.

In your case, you have developed an irrational bug up the butt about Yi, so there you go. Now if you actually in some way do NOT believe that big trumps little, and big over small...that would be when we'd have to start talking about not getting it. The entire franchise we root for was built on understanding just such a distinction at a very key moment.

Ellis is a nice little player. Thoguht he deserved his award. Would be pretty excited to see him show up as a 6th man if we could get him cheap (whcih we can't). Good third guard. That said, he's playing in a wacky system perfectly designed for his talents, and not for winning in a big way, and he doesn't have a natural position if you take him out of that system. Meanwhile on the other side you have a 7'0" 250lb player who might be an even better athlete than he is.

To me this question comes down to how good you think Yi is going to be vs. whether you think Ellis is a point guard. I think Ellis really is a point guard, and could potentially be the Kings' point guard of the future (which is something we're really going to need at some point in this rebuild). I really, really like Yi and would love to have him on the team, but to me it's tough to pass up a sure thing in a position of need. Ellis/Martin compliment each other and could solidify the backcourt for years. I understand Yi's potential, which is why it's not an easy question for me, but I guess I'm a little more swayed by a 21 year old point guard who has already proven himself over a 22 year old intriguing question mark.

Hey man, I call it the way I see it...Yi may be better than Van Horn, but he won't become REMOTELY close to KG. I've never said Yi will be bad, I've ALWAYS had the mantra that he's not worth a LOTTO pick, especially in this draft. Now Jason Smith on the other hand, he sucks and will suck that's the great white stiff(along with Aaron Gray) in this draft.
