Here's what interesting about this to me...
He was essentially dumped to Houston for salary reasons. You can argue it was for talent but when the return was two expiring contracts and a rookie with one year left on his deal, it doesn't really matter how well Toney Douglas and Cole Aldrich played after the All Star break, that deal was still a salary dump. Now he's being shopped again purely because Houston is changing from their "stockpile talent and build slowly" strategy to a "target Dwight Howard in free agency and win now" strategy. Neither team unloaded him because he can't play. There's a chance here to basically have a do-over with a new owner in charge and get our draft pick back for cash basically. Again you could argue that he hasn't shown much in the NBA yet, but if you are in the business of stockpiling assets and building your foundation, here's an opportunity to add a talented piece without giving up much in return. I still don't know about the fit, but the salary commitment isn't all that much more than what we've sunk into Travis Outlaw for no production. If you have a coach coming in who's committed to developing young players, it could work out in our favor.
